Gold plated 1910 Gillette Pocket Edition No. 500. Had a inspection tag dated Sept. 6, 1910. Serial No. on razor - B688913. With cloth pouch.

Aristocrat Trademark

Gillette used the Aristocrat trademark starting in August 1914 for a variety of razor sets continuing into at least 1951. There were gold and silver plated with round handles, some with flared ends. You are right. It seems that the Red&Black case was first used for the Brownie and then for the Gillette shown in the orginal posted picture. The Brownie is the second type of razor that Gillette made, it has a knurled handle with a small knob on the end. See Krumholz, p. 158, botom of p. 204 an...

The case looks like the Gillette Red and Black Special sold in 1939. But the examples I have seen have a Brownie razor with the comb (toothed) guard. Is the razor a mite long for the case?
