So it seems to me that there really must be some kind of treasure trove of Almond/Sandalwood/Limes that was discovered, or someone is making it again. Anyone have any insight?

The Pasteur's on 34th St. is pretty close to Macy's and has everything under the sun at the best prices. Also, Macy's has stuff on the top floor near the furniture section. It's not a huge selection and it is nothing great.

I live in NYC which gets the nectar of the Catskills which is pretty much as soft as it gets. I never have lather issues. WHen I visit my parents in PA, the water is as hard as it gets. I don't know what the information you got was, but I have a barbed super and a best Chubby 2 and both take whatever I throw at them. they are fantastic brushes.

While I do not believe there is a steadfast rule, every brush I have ever seen that says "Pure Bristle" means that it is boar's hair. Not sure why the distinction is drawn that way.
