Boy did that ever bring back some memories. Remember it well. Also remember the one where Richard Pryor did the alphabet.

I don't think I'd have a problem letting my kids watch it. I'd rather let them listen and watch JEG doing it vs. somebody with the light song songy voice doing it.

Wow Dave what a nice item you got. I saw the question posed about the serial number - is it really from 1904? Restoring that baby is going to be a labor of love.

Well BB it's good to hear that you had a good start. You took it slow and easy and didn't get over zealous trying to reach for BBS. In time, you may change the passes you make and reduce the time needed to get the desired results. We look forward to hearing about your progress along the way.

These days when you listen to the radio, it's either the same songs over and over, talk shows with little or no substance, or infomercials. You listen to some of these old radio shows and how entertaining they could be. I'd certainly listen to a lot more radio if it was like the old time shows.

If there is one thing that you can count on when visiting this forum on a regular basis, it's that anything that falls into the popular misnomer category is quickly and effectively debunked. I don't know if I could say that same for other places I've visited. My thanks to the captains here who do so...

I remember well many years ago trying a shave ATG as the first pass with a Bic disposable. It was disastrous for me. I had this silly idea that I could take it all off in one pass. All I ended up doing was butchering my face. All I know is that if I haven't reduced enough stubble previous to the fin...

Sunday 7/3:

Merkur 38C razor
Bic Chrome Platinum blade - shave #1
Jagger brush
Tryphon Legno Di Sandalo soap
AV Ice Blue AS
No cologne

Don't use soap often so I thought it best to start including it more in my rotation. Shave was excellent.

First of all, unless you do things like video, photo, or sound editing, you may not notice any improvement in your new computer. For most people, the bottleneck is Internet connection speed, not computer speed. If you already have a Pentium 4 or even a higher end Pentium III, I'd question replacing...

Bill Evans is one of those people whose influence just radiates to so many players. You listen to people like Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, or even Brad Mehldau and you can feel that influence. With jazz, seeking the source and moving outward gives a very complete picture of where their playing evolv...

I shoot more for the comfort that a blade provides vs. how sharp it is. I don't think my technique is good enough yet to use something more advanced. I've tried some of the better ones from time to time and I always end up with the same conclusion - my technique still needs refinement. The blades I ...

Martin - welcome to SMF! +1 on what Squire said. As you gain more skill and proficiency with the razor, you will see what he means. Resisting the temptation to use too much pressure is something that takes time to learn. Cartridges seem to be designed to expect you to do that. As they say - old habi...

I've heard of letting the initial application of lather stay on your face at the beginning of the shave, but not at the end. If it makes your skin feel good and the aroma is nice, then so be it. For me, the sooner the aftershave hits my face the better.
