Summers are hot here, and heat's OK with me, I wouldn't mind if I lived where it doesn't get so cold in the winter. I have a feeling that sooner or later the cold of the winter's goiing to be my downfall. I've gotta find somewhere that doesn't ever go below about 50. How cold does it average in the ...

Gordon, that's a good one. I've thrown some stuff away too. I'd be throwing away a lot more, if my youngest daughter who still lives with us as a college student wasn't such a good sport (and thrifty) about gladly using up many of my "less than prudent" shaving cream acquisitions.

I was in someone's home the other day. Out of town visitors had stopped by, teens and preteens were in abundance. Each sat transfixed staring at his hand held brain-eater. The adults had a discussion going that centered around the reallzation that the youth prefer texting over face to face interacti...

10 months have passed. Here's what's happened over that time. I'm still limiting my rotation of razors to six SR and 6 DE. Those 6 DEs are excellent. I'm very satisfied in that regard. I have now realized that I am not happy unless I'm using both kinds. If I happen to take too many days in a row wit...

This is an interesting discussion of strops and stropping practices from just a couple of years ago. I've been using a Keene-Edge Silk Finish strop made by Hess Hair Milk Lab. It seems better than the linen strop on my Illinois 127 strop. Only lately, maybe in the last month, I've become a bit disap...

Reflecting back (I love your orange monster by the way!) the illumination is something that brings back some vivid memories, and truly, I haven't remembered this for more than 40 years. I was a grunt, infantry on the ground, assigned to G2 Division Intelligence, and had occasion to move around among...

Ivan, please describe Fitness soap? I'm asking because one poster somewhere said Fitness is the rumored replacement for P160, by the same manufacturer. Is it the same as or similar to P160?

I like these vendors, five are USA and two are UK. I'm likely to buy my new Coates from Paul at Connaught, Robert at The Gentlemen's Shop, Gary at Shoebox, Phil at Bullgoose, and John at WestCoast Shaving, also Vintage Blades or QED. I've bought stuff from them all and they've been honest and fair. ...

If you wish you had the #15, then save up and wait till the right moment to pounce. If you're getting good shaves with your current setup, then it's not much point wasting time & money on other razors that are only substitutes for your wish. An unexpected update: This day has been a very good o...

And I must say to those among us who are in line to buy one, or are waiting to receive theirs, next time any vendor receives any: Please let the rest of us know how you like it! I've read reviews, and when I did that, I was very interested in having one, but didn't do it.

I've never been very fond of the SS razors. So your statement about the 58 bearing a similarity to an SS probably tells me I'm OK with just the Aristocrat out of those two. When it comes right down to it, I really want an OC #15 (English) / '38 Aristocrat, even more than the #58, if the truth is tol...

I seem to be able to find them somehow. I've said it before, I'm a lucky guy when it comes to shaving and stuff. That, plus I keep my eyes open for hidden treasures. Plus, today was the first time I ever saw a picture of a #58, and that's what made me ask the question, because the 46/7 Aristocrat lo...
