Re: MWF bath soap

We're back to using our good old standby, Cussons Imperial Leather (3 bath bars for £1 when we're in England) Imperial Leather has been in the bathroom of every house I've ever lived in, be that living with my parents, grandparents or my own home. It's only £0.17 a bar if you know where to look! I'...

Re: Miniature War Gaming

Well, I'm now about £500 deeper into this hobby and enjoying every minute. An added bonus is that my youngest (13) is also playing. We go along to a kids beginners' session every Sunday and I go and play with some adult beginners on Wednesdays as well as the pair of us battling most days. I've gone ...

Re: Is Coate's still on the horizon?

Finance might have been a contributing factor, but the re-launched Coate's cream was probably the worst shaving product I have ever used and bad reviews on ALL the shaving forums (irritation / burning) will not have helped matters. If the product had been outstanding then it would have sold and that...

Re: Best unscented aftershave lotion

I would say, Clinique Post Shave Healer or AoS unscented aftershave gel ( assuming that it's still made ). Also, you might consider D R Harris's Pink aftershave. True, it does have a scent, but not much of one and it fades almost immediately. It's what I always use, except on trips when I pack the ...

Re: New Penhaligon's Scent coming

If only we had a SMF member in the UK who could surreptitiously mail us colognes and after shaves. We could even pay him a gratuity for his services. Wink wink nod nod......... I always offered my services in the past (as many will attest), until someone accused me of not being quite on the level, ...

Big fan of Immortelle - Sables and HdP 1740 being top of my list.

When I want 'summer' Immortelle I reach for Nuit Etoille.

Re: FYI... If you're near IKEA

I work less than 2 miles from an IKEA.

Would be rude not to pop in ... if it weren't my idea of Hell on Earth.

I've been in once (not by choice), and vowed to never EVER step foot in one as long as I've still got my strength and sanity.

Re: Cheese, Gromit, cheese!

Nice one. Coming from the East Midlands (that's the combined area of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire) I have a particular fondness for a nice bit of Stilton. Most likely due to my paternal Grandad ... who would turn up at the pub by the river Trent on a Sunday lunchtime with a huge ch...

DM is the right choice for now --- with the right mentoring from SAF, we could be in for a treat. I can only imagine the joy at OT should we win silverware the first year under the new manager ..... it would certainly validate SAF's and The Board's choice. I predict that will happen. Nothing whatso...

Can't really think of anything similar, let alone anything similar and better-priced (Blenheim is wildly overpriced, as, nowadays, is most of the English stuff). Unless you ring the outlets at Bicester or York and pick up the 500ml splash bottle for £80. That reminds me, must pick up another two bo...

As a Nottingham Forest fan who watched them as a boy under Brian Clough, SAF always seemed a bit 'meh' in comparison. Fergie should have gone years ago when it was clear the drink was addling his brain and making the Jockanese temper spill out at every opportunity. Fair dues, there are some who will...

The last D R Harris Almond refill I had was rather different to the others.

Had a very chemical-ish scent - nothing like the natural 'earthy' scent I was used to.

I haven't bought any since and won't be buying any in future.

The US shavers are so lucky to these things so readily available.

I'd love to be able to throw some bottles of Aqua Velva, Clubman and Lilac Vegetal in with my day-to-day shopping.

Went to Warhammer World today with my youngest (13). Walked out with Dark Vengeance, the Warhammer 40k starter box. Cost £61.50 which I'm guessing isn't too far off $100. Just spent the best part of 2 hours putting all the models together and will be playing a few games tomorrow. This will be my thi...

Taylor's is good.

Tam Dao is outstanding.

Geo F Trumper's is one of Morrissey's favourite colognes and that man really knows a thing or two about style.
