Welcome to the Boards!! Valdosta, Ga... I spent some time down there while at Moody AFB... Nice place... I have yet to try Nivea, it is readily available too... Nivea is available at Target, Walgreens and Wal-Mart. The last bottle of balm I got was in Nicaragua and it came with a pump. Haven't seen...

I have a 1947 Tech and a 1957 SS. FWIW, I much prefer the Tech as it is a really mild razor. This suits my skin much better. The SS is also a great razor, but I do find it a little heavier and more agressive. The blue tipped SS is milder, while the red tipped is the most agressive. Of course YMMV. ...

Re: What Gillette do I have???

I am hoping the collective brain power of this group can shed some light on which razor I have. Like I said before, I picked it up in an antique shop one day a few months back when I decided to take the DE plunge. The only markings are as follows: PAT. NOS. ON PKG. Reg. US PAT. OFF. Z 2 GILLETTE MA...

Personna DE

For cost and convenience, they are a good deal. ($1.54 at Walmart.) I have compared them with Gillette stainless "the Spoiler" and stainless Wilkinson Sword. In order of preference: 1) "The Spoiler" ; 2) Wilkinson and 3) Personna. Any are still a better deal than Atra at $1.10 pe...

I like the Nivea balm also. And since it is unscented, using it under the aftershave or a nice cologne sounds like a good idea. I am trying to learn to shave with as little razor burn as possible and have found that good lubrication during the shave allows room for a quality aftershave.

NIVEA

I quit using high alcohol content aftershaves some time ago. Alcohol kills good skin cells and burns newly shaved skin! A few years ago I picked up a bottle of NIVEA ENERGY Revitalizing Fluid (aftershave) with castor oil, etc. It leaves the skin smooth and smelling fresh, without the burn. NIVEA als...
