Re: Which Rose and Lime Creams should I get . . .

To catch up on the rose and lime shave creams. Re-ordered the Trumper's Rose and took Squire's advice and bought the T&H West Indies Lime. Finally arrived the other day and I used it for my shave yesterday. Got to say it was just like my other T&H creams, great!!! Wife really liked the scent...

Re: Shaving Cream melted . . .

Update on getting some of the TOBS Shaving Shop Cream. Found a source thanks to Paul at Connaught Shaving. He got back to me the same day I wrote him with a great and dependable source.

Thanks go out to Paul.

Re: Spanish peanuts, oven roasted

Gary, For all the great shaving tips you have posted on this site, for the empty Brut deodorant stick containers you have sent me I thank you. But you have just lost all that good will by posting about peanuts, and nuts in general. I love them can't get enough of them. That was until mid-June when I...

Re: Question for Squire: Why Derby?

At least, my last order was for 1500 when a merchant had a closeout some years ago. One would think with dozens of brands and numerous cartons of blades on hand I would be somewhat methodical, such as match a blade with specific razors, that sort of thing. Truth is my approach today is merely pract...

Why Synthetic?

I do not have a large collection of brushes. Like 3 boar and 5 badger in best and silvertip variety. Do not use the boars very often because I have moved to more of a cream rather than soap user. Still use MWF and Tabac soaps. I am satisfied with all my badgers and use the two best badgers the most....

Re: Shaving Cream melted . . .

Thanks Squire,
Just what I thought I should do. Never thought to see if Phil could order some for me. Seems that this stuff is no longer being made by TOBS and most likely it is old stuff from Amazon. Will shoot Phil a quick email.

Shaving Cream melted . . .

Don't know what to call it exactly but I just bought and received two tubs of TOBS Shaving Shop cream from Amazon. Only reason I bought it from them is that I can't find it anywhere else. The cream arrived yesterday and I decided to open it just to smell the scent and get one ready for use today. To...

Re: **** Post Positive Member Trade Feedback Here ****

This big kudo goes out to Gary aka Brothers. Gary offered and I accepted Brut push up containers to make my own shave stick. Got 3 of them in the mail today, just a week after he said he would mail them. Will work just fine for my MWF.

Big thanks to Gary for his generosity.

Re: Heads Up! TOBS Cedarwood shaving cream

Is this a special order item? My fav store doesn't have it listed and neither does west coast thanks Connaught Shaving has it. Good guy to deal with, fair prices and shipping but since it comes from England it takes more than a couple days to get to you. But will be well worth the weight it seems. ...

Re: Heads Up! TOBS Cedarwood shaving cream

Following Connaught's post in the Shopping forum today, I now have one tub inbound from UK. 8) Hey Gary, you need to let us know what the Cedarwood is like. I have to get a cream to replace my TOBS Shaving Shop which is no longer made. The TOBS site description of this cream sounds interesting. Nee...

Re: soaps with no container

kennethj,

I will have a few like maybe 3 shave cream tubs from TOBS that you could use for your soaps. I do the same thing as I said in my previous post. Just let know if you would like me to send them to you. Will even pay the postage if you live in the Continental US. Let me know.

Re: soaps with no container

Good thought. When I had a lot of tubs on hand I too repurposed them for shaving soaps. Seeking simplicity in my advanced age I just keep a couple things out on the counter now and I can grab the plastic soap tub without first putting on glasses. That or I'm getting lazy. Not lazy Squire, but maybe...

Thank you gentlemen. While not too many replies I got 2 from guys whom I trust. So I was right about the Trumper's Rose and kinda thought that I had seen you rave over the T&H West Indies Lime awhile back Squire.

Now have more questions about other creams after doing some further research.

Which Rose and Lime Creams should I get . . .

Well, it is time again to restock my creams. Have let them go to the point where all my pots of TOBS and T&H are pretty much shot. Have decided to get my TOBS from Connaught as they are the least expensive and their shipping is low even if it takes a couple days longer to get. Have purchased oth...

Re: What are you reading?

Have read a lot during my lifetime. Much of it done lying on my stomach in bed. Got through a ton of books that way. Now with the invention of the Kindle I find myself reading a lot while waiting forever in Drs office (I have a ton of health problems) or mostly each morning, afternoon and evening wh...

Re: soaps with no container

I use mostly creams but do have a few pucks of soap on hand. Say MWF, Tabac, Blenheim Bouqet. What I do is simply buy the refill puck and use an old cream tub to store the soap. Works great and fits well in my shave cabinet.

Well I'm also retired and I find it hard to just shave once a day like every 2 days! :D But I do manage to shave a couple da...

Re: the oil pass

I used the afore mentioned "Oil Pass" for a couple years. Used the recipe given by Leisureguy and found it to be rather nice way to finish the shave. Used this in the days that I needed to get that BBS shave and reduce the amount of 5 o'clock shadow. Enjoyed the process. But no longer do t...
