Would the smaller of the two sizes Conk soaps work for blade buffing needs? I recall the amber being quite slick. Not quite as slick as QED, but in the ballpark. Cheap too and widely available.

Pawn Stars - The Shah's Razor

Anyone catch the latest episode? They had a guy with a gold plated Gillette travel kit (3 piece + blade holder, purple velvet lining), which he claimed was owned by the Shah of Iran. 2K the dude wanted! I'm not too sure of the make or model as my knowledge of DE's doesn't extend past the Merkur cata...

It sounds as if Proraso is emulating the excellent shaving cream from The Gentlemen's Refinery they call Black Ice. Sounds interesting. The anise scent in Black Ice always stood out as a plus for me. Different and pleasant, but an acquired taste for sure. I’ll treat this one like the Sandalwood – I...

Ever see those 'holey' and ripped jeans that cost $150 and are in 'style'? Looks like they were stolen from a graveyard..................Hmmm, wonder if I can sell my 'holey' jeans after I've worn them for about five years? They go great with five weeks worth of stubble that finally has amass...

Tabac - Especially in the fall time. QED Sandalwood - The original formula dating back to when these were first introduced to the market. Unsure if it has changed in recent years. Trumpers Rose - Circa 2006, unsure the formula but is the perfect Rose scented shave medium I have come across. Crisp, d...

I dunno, the schedule political candidates (national) subject themselves to just seems like it is more hectic in this day and age. I wouldn't hold using an electric against either one of the two chaps running for office. Sadly with the trajectory of using negative BS against each other, I could see ...

Clive, what's the scent like?
Seconded - I've heard soapy used as a description, but that is all. I know it is tough, but can you peg it to a soap like T&H or Harris Arlington etc...

Yeah, the MS stuff is great. No cheap scent, doesn't muck with cologne, won't stain shirts, not chalky or drying and good packaging. But, the 3.99 roll on Mitchum also meets those requirements, albeit won't last quite as long on a hot summer day. However, the point of diminishing returns sets in way...

Am I nuts to draw similarities to scent of the Trumpers Sandalwood cream to their Spanish Leather? I got a sample of SL and the first thing that came to mind was their SL.

CE also has a very nice sandalwood cream. Same ballpark scentwise as Trumpers, but a tad stronger.

Never gone as far to test it, but otown suburbs have been stated to have fairly soft water. Over the past year, when using soaps, my method is to load with a brush that is on the wetter side (soak, shake very lightly) and load for an extended period of time, as opposed to drier brush with drops into...
