Re: An Unusual Plisson

A size 16 EW is currently visiting and I can't wait to try it. It's gorgeous, and by far the largest brush I've ever held. An 18 must require two hands. :D Best of luck with your HMW.

Re: water, water everywhere and not a drop...

First time ever using distilled water for a shave. The Wickham Super Smooth generates lots of lather with my hard water anyway, but the distilled took it to another level. A cup of water microwaved to warm, trickled on the soap, dunking the brush (even the razor), and wowser. Old dog, new tricks.

I received a pack of the Noxzemas from Gary and they're very good, certainly the best of the disposables I've tried. Thanks, Gary.

Re: Reading up on Synthetics

I've used the EJ XL over the last few days and found that it's a good latherer with a very large and soft knot that splays much easier than the smaller STFs. Still, it didn't ring any bells for me, and the -28 handle has its edges and curves in all the wrong places making it uncomfortable to grip. T...

They're shooting the 24th James Bond flick currently, and there's talk about how much longer this franchise can keep reinventing itself. I ran across this on the Web

and wonder that myself. I tired of it long ago.

The name is Bond, James Bo . . .

One eating establishment in the same block did survive the mall apocalypse, this one: http://i.imgur.com/dsgPhw5.jpg?1 They didn't sell out when all the other shops did -- but you can see the encroachment of the mall monstrosity on the left. Apple Pan has been in that spot selling burgers and pie si...

Re: What's for supper?

There used to be a small, hole-in-the-wall restaurant by the same name my folks used to take me to when young. Wonderful salads, black bread, schnitzel. Rosy-cheeked waitresses wearing traditional attire. Old, old paintings of sea vistas and enchanted Alpine village scenes hanging on the stucco wall...

Re: BIC 1 Sensitive single blade disposables

Always a rough shave with the Bics, but I remain curious about Gary's Noxzema/Kai brand. Haven't found that exact packaging yet.

Re: Reading up on Synthetics

Sam, the EJ XL continues to sound great. And I just turned down a screamin' deal on one 'cause I'd like to try before buy. #-o BTW, there's a report that Gen 3 STF fibres are being deployed, at least for testing at the moment. They look different than the v2 what little I've seen, with thinner fibre...

Re: BIC 1 Sensitive single blade disposables

Thanks, Gary. Your packaging definitely reflects Noxzema branding, but the ones I see online are like what Pete suggests. Do yours pivot? Where again can we find the "real" deal?

Re: More shedding issues

Thanks, Gary. It may be early in the process but I think the writing's on the wall with this knot, so hope to resolve this issue quickly. I believe it was shipped from the factory with a faulty one and so should be subject to replacement at fair cost. If one is offered and the price turns out to be ...

More shedding issues

I have a new-old Simfix Grosvenor LE 2-band Super that has been shedding profusely. Even after shampooing, combing, etc., it continues to lose dozens of hairs each time. I'm continuing on with this procedure since it's the one recommended by Mark/Simpsons, but my sense is that the knot will soon be ...
