If you're willing to part with it, it could be the start of my hoard. My Genco could use the company.

Re: Is this for real - Gillette prototype gas-powered razor?
Looking at the "gas" end of the hose makes me wonder where it's inserted to get the gas.

Tim, I have no experience with the mixed brushes but I'm looking forward to your review. I think I have room for one more brush on my shelf.

Damascus for a straight razor?
Gents,
I've been tossing around the idea of buying myself a straight razor with Damascus steel. What are your thoughts? Is it a good steel or just eye candy? Should I look for a specific width or grind?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Re: New blade bad shave
...straight razors can be very sharp, but they don't ever get like a brand new DE blade... Chris, your comment surprises me - I thought that a properly honed and stropped straight razor would be far sharper than most, if not all, DE blades. Is that not the case? As a corollary question, is it likel...

Re: Best Pomade
I'm currently using Crown Shaving Company's[1] pomade. It has a clean citrus fragrance that fades quickly, it applies smoothly, and works well for me. (I'm fortunate to have inherited my Dad's and uncles' hair tendencies; they all had thick wavy hair until the days they died.) They ship to numerous ...

Re: Taking a break from really sharp blades
... I am not concerned with wooing a beautiful young woman. Socially acceptable shave. Comfort is very good. Close enough post-shave. No irritation... Well said. I don't claim to be a fountain of expertise but my pendulum has swung away from Feather and Kai blades. I'm happy with the damn fine shav...

Re: Gillette Scores an own goal
The point of Gillette's advertisement is laudable; however, the execution was botched. Instead of emphasizing that as men we can stand up for what's right, it gives the impression that we are collectively engaging in (or condoning) bullying and misogynistic behavior. Gillette could have made this an...

Re: Gillette Scores an own goal
I had no idea that I was such a misogynistic bully. Thanks Gillette, I'll remember that when I buy shaving and grooming supplies.

Re: Review - AP Shave Co Brushes
How well do the natural badger brushes compare to the SynBad knots? Well, never mind: it looks like I can do my own comparison. My lovely bride gave me a gift certificate to one of the local barber shops as a Christmas stocking stuffer. Minutes ago, I went in looking for the Rockwell razors they ha...

Re: Review - AP Shave Co Brushes
How well do the natural badger brushes compare to the SynBad knots? I realize there are several grades of badger but I'm wondering if they're so similar in performance and feel that I should get a 'natural' so that I can enjoy the benefits of heat retention and splay.

Re: Review - AP Shave Co Brushes
...I have several synthetic shave brushes and I'm always interested to hear what else is out there, though I buy much less new shave equipment these days than I once did... Yeah, I've slowed down on the purchase of blades, brushes, and soaps. But aftershaves and colognes, well, they're another matt...

Canadian Beard & Blade is closing
I have no affiliation with Canadian Beard & Blade (https://www.beardandblade.ca/) but I have purchased soaps and aftershaves from them. List members may be interested to know that their remaining inventory is on sale for 45% off (with the exception of straight razors and B&M products). The s...
