Re: A Gent's Forum to this day

I owe a lot to the "core" members here and to many others who post on SMF. I am in the camp which is glad the artisans are around, but tends to the traditional in soap makers. Based solely on my limited experience with the artisans, none yet match the soaps on which I grew up. Perhaps that...

Those are complimentary, as far as I am concerned!
And it's just the beginning, my friends! Worse is still to come!

Re: Non-Traditional Wet Shaving

Yes, Johnny, joining in with best wishes that you'll soon be back to form.
At 72, it's distressing to realize just how many bits and pieces just don't work
the way they used to just a dozen years ago. And how many just plain hurt!!
Good Luck!

Re: Cartridge Razors - 5

Just got my 10th or more shave from the MR3 and, amazingly, got a great results with only 1 1/2 passes, plus a bit of buffing. No doubt the fabulous lather from the Valobra Cologne/Simpson Duke 2 combo aided greatly, but this razor/blade pairing provides an incredibly smooth, totally comfortable sha...

Re: SIMPSON AFTER SHAVE BALM VS CLINIQUE

Well, having tried the new Clinique for Men Post-Shave Soother, to me it seems IDENTICAL to the product formerly sold as Post Shave Healer. I didn't save the outer carton of PSH, which contained the ingredient list, nor did I ever try the old Post Shave soother, so I can't swear Clinique didn't tamp...

Re: Back to Jolly 'Ole

Wow, loved reading this thread. And much envy for those going to the U.K. a favorite destination. Lived in London for nearly two years and spent lots of weekends and more hiking (or walking as the Brits would say) in the Lake District. Magnificent! Before and after that stint, wife and I, and once o...

Re: "KIK" MESSAGING:

Mr Pinchy LOL, he uses Kik to communicate with ALL his friends, don't you know! And we certainly appreciate that. Plus, I believe, there is a visual Skype-like availability with Kik which is just terrific for him and to us as well. All in all, not an inconvenience for us and an advantage to him. And...

Re: Cartridge Razors - 5

Gary, Thanks for the clarification; misread your very well-done chart. Johnny, at about $ 2 per cartridge, not so inexpensive as a DE or Gem SE, but cheaper it appears than the Gillette Mach 3. While I can't remember ever trying a Mach 3, the Feather blade system seem to be sharper than either the T...

Re: Cartridge Razors - 5

Can anyone tell me how many shaves I'm likely to get with the MR3 Neo. Is "medium-long lasting" 8-10
shaves or more like 4-6??.
Only got 2 cartridges with the package and am wondering how many 9-pack refill packs I'll need to
re-order next time.
Thanks!

Re: True Detective series

I really wanted to get into this series.. I tried to give it a go 2x.. I just can't seem to get into it.. Thought I was the only one who found the series badly acted, confused and prone to gratuitous sex. Quite frankly tired of moody cops with deep-seated psychological problems and prone to infidel...

Re: Cartridge Razors - 5

Gary et al., Just got my MR3 Neo and liked my first shave. The handle is nice... hefty and comfortable at the same time. Used mine in the "fixed" mode and got a really fine shave with little effort/pressure. In that mode, reminded me of the Trac II, which I always liked, but even nicer. Th...

"KIK" MESSAGING:

Anyone here familiar with KIK Messaging? Apparently it's the only way I'm going to be able to communicate with my teen grandson in FL. He's using it exclusively in lieu of e-mail and other messaging alternatives. Supposedly it does work with android phones and tablets and I can't load it directly to...
