Modern TTO razors

I'm thinking about getting a new TTO and need input. The Feather Popular seems a good choice, though I do not have a lot of user info on that one. The same holds true of the offerings from Parker. There appears to be many conflicting opinions about that brand. Is the Parker TTO head a recent design?...

Re: Tell me again; what's wrong with Dial?

Gordon You are correct in that different products appeal to different people for different reasons. Putting it more succinctly; YMMV. I have found that the current version of Dial works well for me during the dog days of summer for the reasons I stated above. Of course if someone has an allergy or s...

Re: Tell me again; what's wrong with Dial?

I just can't seem to settle on any one thing. Hmmm...That certainly has a familiar ring to it. Just to add to the chaos, I'm breaking in two new terrific soaps (when not using the Dial this month): Meehan's Sandalwood (Bonny Doon Farm), and a Rampal Latour 150 gr. round with an amazing scent ( Colo...

Re: Tell me again; what's wrong with Dial?

Ron I have not found the new "shaped" bar to disappear or come apart more quickly than the old. May be wrong, but I think the old and new bars weigh the same. When I first saw the new bar, I assumed it was designed to keep the contact between the soap and the dish or shower ledge to a mini...

Tell me again; what's wrong with Dial?

I've used many fine soaps over the years (still do), but in the warmer months I generally move Dial soap (Spring Water scent) into the rotation. It always lathers well, rinses clean and easy (unlike Dove), smells pleasant and generally does the job it is supposed to do at a small fraction of the cos...

Re: HuntLee razors coming soon

My antennae are fully erect...can I say that on this forum? :? This is great news. I am particularly interested in seeing the Schick style injector since I have a good stash of the injector blades. Truth be told, I'm curious about the other razor too. I guess RAD lurks & lingers in your system, ...

Re: You only get two razors; which & why

Moot perhaps, but to me an enjoyable exercise. We all spend lots of time here refining our choices and trying new products with the goal of finding what works best for each of us. For me, doing the mental "homework" that leads to a conclusion can be enlightening in and of itself. Sharing t...

You only get two razors; which & why

If I had to trim down to only 2 razors they would be the Cobra and the Futur. The Futur seems to work well with almost any blade you put in it. I run my three favorites (Personna 74. Personna HU and the Feather) on the 3 setting, and get consistently excellent shaves: with the 74 naturally having th...

Bonny Doon Farm Meehan Sandalwood Cologne

Finally picked up a half ounce bottle of this artisan cologne to give it a try. It is made with true essential oil, and if you like the scent of real sandalwood you're going to be a fan. This is pretty much a single note woody fragrance. It goes on with a slight tangy edge(grape spirits perhaps...qu...

Re: MWF bath soap

I quite like MWF bath soap (shave soap as well), but when I feel like a change of pace I like the tallow based soaps from http://www.queencharlottesoaps.com. Great variety of scents (my faves being Sandalwood, Bay Rum & GIT), reasonable price and they work very well for me. He also makes veggie ...

Re: An aggressive injector razor?

Gary I also prefer an aggressive razor much of the time (but not when using vintage carbon DE blades), and get a lot of use out of a Cobra and a Gem Micromatic OC. I also use and quite like a Schick M3 Adjustable. I find that I use it on setting 3-4, and that the blade gap gets pretty dramatic from ...

Has anyone tried the above mentioned EDT? After reading up on it my nose began to twitch, but I don't want to get ahead of myself before checking with you guys.

Re: Best unscented aftershave lotion

I ended up getting the Lucido, and it is interesting stuff. My first thought was that the glass bottle is quite attractive...appropriate for life on the bathroom counter. I opened it up, and gave it a good sniff. To my nose, it smells like a mild, slightly sweet version of Listerine...not unpleasant...

Re: Best unscented aftershave lotion

Gary,
Thanks, that was the info I was hoping for. Will be getting the Lucido shortly. Speaking of an alcohol scent, I find that to be true of the Clinique...actually, it smells more like a vodka/gin cocktail of some kind.

Re: Best unscented aftershave lotion

Thanks one & all. I have, use and like the Clinique PSH, but am looking for an unscented splash. I probably was not clear enough on that point. Have decided to go with the Lucido. The whole reason for this exercise is that I want to move away from scented aftershaves; not necessarily because of ...

Best unscented aftershave lotion

I have finally decided that the best route for me is an unscented aftershave. I have been looking at Mandom Lucido, but have seen mixed reviews on the scent...though it is supposed to be unscented. It has no fragrance listed...perhaps it is the alcohol. Anyway, your thoughts would be appreciated.

Rich man, poor man sandalwoods

I have been on a sandalwood kick lately, and have searched high and low (decants clutter my house  ) for what would be THE ONE. I believed I had found it when I picked up a 4ml decant of Profumum Roma Santalum. This perfume carries both myrrh and cinnamon, but it is really all about a strong, ...

Anyone familiar with this line? Nordstrom's carries it, and Razor MD has an interesting site. Is this the real deal, or is it all about marketing? I am particularly interested in their Sandalwood post shave lotion.

Re: Kai Captain blades question

Squire If you are talking about the Kai DE blades, I would certainly agree. Have a couple of packs, and am always pleasantly surprised when I load one up. Though I have never (yet) used the "Captain" blades, Gary and others swear by them. Given Kai's fine reputation in general, and my expe...
