A quick update now that I can reasonably see computer monitor .
Surgery yesterday went without a hitch and post surgery follow up today was A-OK per the doc. I measured 20/40 in the corrected eye and life is much brighter . The other eye to be done later this month.

5 mg of Warfarin (blood thinner) daily and a 12 minute response time from local fire dept ambulance (I know from experience) puts the kibosh on the thought of a straight razor in my rotation .

Now if only there was a trick to get NOS Gillette Bleu Extra blades from their plastic dispenser.

I concur Gil, the Palmolive shave stick (which I grate and press into a faux puck), is consistently at the forefront of my rotation followed by the Italians. The really really good stuff (T&H, GFT,CF) ends up on the back of the shelf (for those special shaves).
