SMN is just too expensive to consider, so, I'm not sure what direction I'll go in once my stash is used up. Gordon are you referring to SMN Vellutina? http://www.lafcony.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=lafcony&Product_Code=10250 I received 2 bars as a Christmas gift last y...

L'Occitane en Provence Extra-Gentle Soap, Milk with Shea Butter 250 gram vegetable based Nice scent. Leaves my skin feeling clean and soft. I've noticed that this soap has very good longevity in the shower. The soap does have an expiration date. I'm not sure if that means that it goes bad if you sto...

Re: what are the early warning signs of RAD?

Uh oh. I was doing so well! I ordered and started with my EJ89l. No need for anything else, works great, is beautiful. Then I ended up at The Groom Room and picked up one of the Shaving Factory / Derby razors because it came in a little case that would work for travel. Ok, there was a good reason f...

If the goal is "being presentable" I can get away for a day or two with a Bic Sensitive and a can of foaming goo.

I'm not saying it is a pleasant shave. I'm just saying I can achieve the appearance of being clean shaven.

Wednesday

Schick L1 injector
P74 (20)
Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Omega 20106
QED Fresh Lime Soap
Trumpers Lime Skinfood

This shave felt normal but I noticed that by lunchtime I had visible stubble. Useful lifetime of this blade in this razor was approximately 19 shaves. Back to my DEs. :)

This thread stimulated me to inventory my blades too, and here is what I discovered I have. It's ridiculous. (Maybe it's time to start selling some, since I won't live long enough to use all of them.) I've noticed in your SOTD posts that you don't fool around when it comes to blades. Nice collectio...

Maybe if you could compare it to one like I just got you would find it less fresh. I didn't think there was anything wrong with mine either before I did that out of curiosity. My wife immediatly confirmed what I am telling you too. Sure, I'll pick up a small bottle of the new stuff. My sense of sme...

Re: Quit Searching?

I quit searching for "the perfect setup" when I found the following: Semogue 1305 brush Gillette Tech razor Treet Dura Sharp blades Tabac shave soap TOBS Rose cream No need for me to look for something better as these products give me a bbs shave every time with no irritation. By the way,...

I've got a bottle of 1955 Old Spice and it smells wonderful. I use it on special occasions. It does not seem to have diminished to the extent that I can perceive it.

Re: EJ compared to Merkur

Hello Gents, I am relatively new to wet shaving (4 mths) and I could not be happier with the change. I am getting good quality and pain free shaves after years of trying all different types of disposables, cartridges, and electrics. My wife has appropriated my Merkur Long Handle, which is okay sinc...

Me too, just haven't gotten around to getting a cat yet. Pye sounds like a nice fellow, he just happens to like that brush. Not too different from alot of us.

I definitely understand Kav. My life took a weird turn this week as well with ambulance rides, hospital emergency rooms, infusion clinics, the works. At one point last Friday I got anaphylaxis from some intravenous meds and just about checked out. Totally out of the blue. I feel like I'm being teste...

The LBs are seriously the most difficult to locate. I have, ahem, a small collection of vintage blades but could not locate a *single* Light Brigade. Not one. At some point I decided to not hunt for them. They ought to be left to those who simply must have them, like Pandas that must have bamboo to ...

Re: Blades--What I Have

I decided to count my blade collection and thought it might be of interest. Note that I don't have quite this total number of blades, since I count an opened package as full--not knowing the actual count--until it is finished (I do not have more than one unopened package of any particular blade, so...
