You should be able to melt the QED soap, place wax paper in you Anchor bowl and pour the QED soap on top of it. Let it set up until solid, place in the freezer for a time and then remove soap puck, remove the wax paper and have a loose puck.

I loved both Manchester's volumes on Churchill -- sad that he passed away before he could complete the next couple of volumes as Alone ends with much more story left to tell. I remember reading and re-reading the reference to Churchill's shaving -- and even called it out to my wife at the time. She...

Myself I change after 4-6 shaves depending of the blade. Does not matter if the last shave was good, I just ditch the bl...

II've read that these were mild shavers which is what I'm hoping for. The NEW is supposed to be more aggressive. Scott Hi there, One thing those Old Types aren't is a mild shaver. I've tried lots of OC types over the years and that head design has one hell of a bite. Heh, on my face those things fe...

They were on vacation and it sat on their front porch for a week before my curiosity got the best of me. I went across the street to look and discovered it was mine. Stuff happens. Maybe it will turn ...

You're learning two things, how to shave with a straight and how to prepare a straight. I found it necessary to separate those two learning processes. I recommend getting a starter straight and having it professionally honed and then just buying a leather strop. Then you can concentrate on learning ...
