Tip o' the hat to Shaving.ie - a good vendor

Guys, I just purchased a new brush from this vendor. His name is Chris O'Grady, and he's located in Dublin Ireland. The selection of products is excellent across the board. The website is first class, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable, and that includes his shipping charges. I believe this ...

Sounds good, guys. The fact that the two of you are happy with yours is one of the primary reasons I wanted one of my own. This is going to be a fun project.

Semogue 1305 - will it survive?

There have been a lot of kind words of praise posted in the forums about this brush. So this week I purchased a Semogue 1305 from a superb vendor who happens to be located in Ireland. (Shaving.ie, if you're interested. The gentleman's name is Chris O'Grady, located in Dublin.) Anyway, I guess this m...

You guys have just got to read this whole thread, starting at the top. RobNoxious is a scream to read. I wish with all my heart and soul that all of those guys from four years ago would still come around and contribute in meaningful ways. Doug and Chris, and maybe another or two are still with us. T...

A Krona was the only DE I used for a lot of years. It finally wore out, but I've still got it, and it'll shave so long as I make sure the butterflies are closing properly before I tighten it up.

I'm also receiving a sample. I'm going to use it with a DE and a SR, which can be a bit unnerving, I suspect, considering the thought of the open blade against the bare skin. It'll be an interesting experience.

The odd inconsistency here, to me at least, is the fact that there seems to be no panic buying of the yellow and green 7 O'clocks, and the others. Is the Iridium the superstar that gets all the glory, and nobody cares about any of the other brands that come out of that factory? Just a detail that ca...

I've always had the understanding that quinine is something bitter, and that is just what I've always thought. I wouldn't mind giving the Almond soap a try, just to find out what all the hoopla's about, but I'm not a buyer.

The article is here.

Also, ShoeboxShaving has this information posted on their Super Iridium web page.

Gillette evidently has a plan afoot to kill the DE good and dead. It is called the Gillette Guard, a single edge cartridge razor to be made in India.

awww, come off it. all of this is becoming just sensationalism now depending on what you had for breakfast in the morning. i appreciate that you are excited about your new brush but imho threads like these (in block capitals no less) are best started after having given it a good 3 month test drive ...
