Ron, how long did it take to break in and become "soft"?. My 10049 went soft really quickly after about a week of shaving. My Semogue 2000 is taking a lot longer. All 3 of the Omega's took about 4-5 shaves before they became really soft, but they felt soft from the beginning on the face d...

The softest bristles of all brushes I have owned are the ones of the Semogue LE 2011 Bristle 2 Initially it lost lots of hair but only the first time I used it. I posted about it (not here btw) and others replied it might have been a brush that didn't get combed out in the factory (because they noti...

Unique piece! I bet there are some prototypes out there of all kinds of razors that might shave wonderfully but only a few people will experience them. SE razors are the only ones I've never tried, I've found a few old ones in antique shops but never got around to buying one, might do that this year...

Another vote for the 10019, excellent brush. (loft 50 - knot 22) The chart that Shadowsdad talked about: http://www.shoeboxshaveshop.com/prmishbrdisu.html I received the 10019 - 10098 and 20102 as a gift, first omegas I ever used and I'm impressed (and I have tried some high end brushes) The 10098 a...

I saw a women walking a cat on leash last week. Whatever works. Around here they are even used to seeing a well shaved man walking his cats ;-) Mostly together with our Mallinois patrol dog before he died while in service, now that made for some strange looks. here the cat walks with my wife...

The Staub tagine costs $170 here and Le Creuset $130 so for us it's cheaper to go Creuset. Strange how different country's have such different prices, both are made in France (I live about 10 miles from the French border). A lot has to do with customs and importing costs I think. On a side note cust...

We have the LeCreuset Tangine and use it often. A few weeks ago we traded the big model for the smaller one. It was far to big for two people and the other family bought the small one and wished they had gone bigger. Just take care not to drop the upper part, there might be other makes out there but...

St. Bernardus 12 abt. I did recently score a couple of Westvleteren 12 in a trade. That beer is fabulous. In fact both beers where made less then a mile apart with the same recipe until recently. The St. Bernardus is commercially available, the Westvleteren not (you have to go to the monastery to g...
