Re: Ok, fall and winter scent time

Well, call me common if you like because I think Old Spice cologne is the perfect classic scent for autumn and winter. Additionally, I still use my favorite Caswell - Massey Lime cologne in the winter too. Regrettably this cologne was discontinued and when my last two bottles are gone that's the end...

Thinking of Joyce Kilmer

Trees By - Joyce Kilmer I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the earth's sweet flowing breast A tree that looks at God all day And lifts her leafy arms to pray A tree that may in summer wear A nest of robins in her hair Upon whose bosom s...

Re: One needs to do their research

When I'm traveling internationally I always pick up a bottle (or two) of Scotch at the airport duty free shop. The prices are good to great and the selection is almost always terrific. Regrettably I don't travel to other countries as often as I used to. Hopefully when I retire from my current awful,...

Re: Contax G2 AF Rangefinder & color film

More great shots, Mike. Thanks for posting them. It is difficult to get film developed in Japan? - Murray Murray, it is very easy to get color film developed here. When I drop off a roll of color film in town I can pick up the prints an hour later. I usually will drop off a roll or 2 after work, ha...

Gary, the pink car is a Toyota Crown. I don't know if it's exported to the United States. The Crown is Toyota's kind of Cadillac - very expensive and almost never seen in pink.

Re: Leica M9

IRT "M9, Lux 50 and tonic water" Chris, this is truly an exceptional picture. The setting, the colors, the shallow depth of field; it all works beautifully. I expected to see the dark gold hue of scotch in the glass; it would have made for a perfect color balance with your wife’s hair colo...

Re: Panasonic Leica DG Nocticron 42.5mm f1.2 Lens

These are very successful/effective portraits. I would not have expected such limited depth-of-field with such a short focal length, but it obviously is possible because of the large apertures. - Murray Murray, thanks for taking the time to look and comment. The Nocticron is probably one of the nic...

Panasonic Leica DG Nocticron 42.5mm f1.2 Lens

An exercise in shallow depth of field with the Panasonic Leica DG Nocticron 42.5mm f1.2. The Nocticron is a Micro Four Thirds system lens and 42.5mm is the equivalent of an 85mm lens on a 35mm camera. These are some examples of what the lens is capable of doing. The autofocus is fast, I shot these o...
