SOLD * * Gillette Red Tip #B3 - PRICE REDUCED

We are moving and downsizing, thus I must sell the nickel-plated Red Tip (date code B3 = 1956, 2nd quarter). A shaver can use this razor immediately, as it is in good shape with only slight normal wear on the top cap, a slight amount of brassing on the underneath side of the base plate, and a small ...

SOLD: Gillette Slim Adjustable J3 -- new pics

Available is a Gillette Slim Adjustable (date code J3 = 1964, third quarter). This razor is in very good condition, with no brassing nor scratches visible to the naked eye, and can be used immediately. It is clean and ready to go. I paid $40 plus shipping for it, and have used about 10 times. With t...

Agree with OP's comments. What was the point in shaving the right side of the client's face with a straight, and the left side with a mach 3? Was it to be a test of closeness or effectiveness? If so, there is no clue that was the case. I would definitely want to go to that "barber" shop. B...

Looking back over the years, it appears that many things that our "brightest and best" thought were so -- were not so. The earth is round, not square. The sun is the center our universe, not the earth. Man will never get to Mars. Remember oat bran, which was supposed to be the super-food c...

My point in mentioning the 500ml bottle (which may last for the rest of ny natural life) is that it makes usage per day pretty cheap, and effectively converts a high-end luxury product into one that is much more affordable.

Slant for DE89

Hi Mike - yes, I am very interested. I have a DE89 that I purchased for travel, but we have not traveled this summer because I needed hip surgery -- so it is unused. Please tell me about the slant and post a picture if possible.

Thank you.

Let me second Wendell's comments. Also may I suggest you consider D R Harris Aftershave Milk (I do not prefer the Arlington scented milk). It does not contain alcohol and is a fabulous product. Expensive and worth every penny.

The Weber all-stainless ARC is a mild 3-piece, and a good value priced at $70 versus the Feather stainless.

I would humbly change the above to read -- the expensive soap is the one you throw away because you don't like it.

20 thumbs up to GA Russell

The good news - the 500ml bottle costs about half as much per ml as does the 100ml bottle. So if you like Skin Food, this is the way to go. West Coast Shaving sells the 100ml for $26 and the 500ml for $65, so do the math. I imagine it is available from other vendors as well. If you like Skin Food, d...

May I suggest emailing the following two vendors:

John Koontz, West Coast Shaving
John@westcoastshaving.com

Phil Huntsinger, Bull Goose Shaving
BullGoose@bullgooseshaving.net

Good luck. These are two of the best vendors I know, and they should be able to help.

Re: Test drive 2013 Ford Focus ST

front wheel drive is not my preferred method of propulsion. http://s10.postimage.org/scxngwk7p/focus_ST_008.jpg Chevrolet will introduce a REAR WHEEL DRIVE Impala SS with small block V8 during model year 2014, according to a recent article I read at the barber shop. It will be a bona fide muscle ca...

I dislike it when I cannot shave. I recently spent 3 days in the hospital, and couldn't wait to get home. Yes the hospital is noisy, yest the hospital involves the risk of infections. But that wasn't the reason I couldn't want to get home. I WANTED TO SHAVE, but was not allowed to get out of bed unt...

Wendell - sorry, but that is "operator error" as opposed to something inherently wrong with the shaving art itself. Focus, man!

To Depper Dad -
Another approach is to take an EJ DE89 or 89L, which will have the same head as a current Chatsworth but for a fraction of the cost. That way you can leave the Chatsworth at home and dodge the risk of having it stolen, while still getting a good shave from the 89 for a small price.

Go, Brits. Kudos to you. Anyone (in any country) who bad-mouths the military needs to be reminded that it is the soldier who has given us the freedoms we cherish -- not the politicians, not the celebrities, but the soldier. Offending a minority person? Shame on them. If they really want to be citize...

Gareth I sometimes wonder if the stretching done by barbers isn't at least to partially compensate for their middle aged customers slightly sagging faces. Hey Squire, there was a reason I picked Slackskin for a user name! Gareth, maybe there is an easier answer. As I understand it, you are using Bi...
