Jerry, that's something I don't know - Bernd took the drawings and turned them into brushes. Mt faux toroiseshell handle is faintly translucent and I can see the plug going up and down as in the original drawing, but how the screw is arranged I can't tell without a sledgehammer.

I have made a point of not immersing the handles of my variable brushes - more because I was thinking that water and soapy goo might encourage mould rather than for mechanical reasons. Maybe this is why mine still work. I did notice when I received the production brush that when I worked the mechani...

Nothing illegal in writing 'Razor' on the customs label.

You mean I don't have to do the seppuku thing with a non-folding Feather? (Would probably be the only unassisted Whipple's procedure ever performed.)
All the same, I am mortified that this should happen. I hope it sorts out soon.

...sta-prest... Vic Woo, made me vertiginous with a flashback there - to the days of the brief suedehead follow up to the original (non-political) skinhead movement in England. Sta-Prest trousers, white socks (cringe), brothel creepers, Fred Perry shirt, 'Crombie coat or 'Arrington jacket. Stone-ah...

I have a Trac II with a tiny aerosol of foam in the handle from the 1980's - they were handed out to first class passengers on British Airways for a short while. (No, I was not the passenger, but merely the recipient of a hand-me-down.)

Michael,
How long are tinyurls good for? Don't they ever get recycled? You might want to check before committing them to print.

Mark, I hope it doesn't lock up as some have done. I'm sure a little work with some sandpaper will solve the problem but it is worrisome that there are some out there with problems. I know Bernd will correct them, but I am sorry for the members who have bought one and are being put to some trouble. ...

Buy a refill and put it in an oversized teacup or a latte cup - it works fine and even allows you to fill the cup with hot water and soak your brush and soften the surface of the soap whilst you strop your razor. Something like that could give rise to an idea for a heated scuttle... Seriously, hard ...

It's a shame, too. It doesn't smell nearly as bad as people are letting on. It's just an unscented, plain, real olive oil soap smell. I imagine the "cube" probably smells similar. No frills, just performance. Just because it isn't "scented" doesn't mean "plain soap" st...

If you have a VLB that is too stiff to turn..

Here is Bernd's answer: Chris, I regret to hear this very much. When I sent out the brushes I was certain that all are well made. To hear that some of them are not working well is a bad surprise. Of course, I will made every change and modification on the system so that it will work as it should. Th...

Gents, I'm truly sorry to hear this. I can't loosen the hex screw on my production brush, unlike the prototype I adjusted. I don't know how Bernd implemented the mechanism I had suggested in my original drawing, so I don't know if using brute force would be wise - probably not. I'll e-mail him and a...

Mine have loosened up with use. With the very first prototype, which had a different screw, I did loosen the hex screw to free it up.

There's a right way for everyone, and it looks as if you have found yours. It only becomes pathological when you have to then search for a new right way, a better right way and so on. In the meantime, enjoy your shaves!
