Re: More Portraits
I'm strongly considering buzzing off all the remaining hair on my head, so I don't know if bushy-tailed is an epithet that might even begin to apply. I always had a thick head of hair, but the first six months of chemo in 2014-2015 made it pretty thin on top. The rather stronger chemo this year mea...

Re: Apple watch
Has the battery life of the latest Apple watch improved? I gave my wife one last Christmas and it was the latest model, but the battery life is abysmal.

Tonight: hot chicken sandwich on sourdough with baby green peas and a sea of gravy. One of my all time favourites, which nourished me through university.

Re: Contacting Rooney?
The centre of the knot of my Rooney 2/1 Finest has started to hollow out. Mr Sabini offered to replace the knot with his current Finest badger at my cost. As it’s still functional, I’ve decided to continue to use the brush as is. This sounds a lot like "Go buy a new brush" :D I did \:D/ \...

Re: Watches, watches, watches (caution: modem burner)
That’s a beautiful watch Clive. I too lusted after a watch like that for many years. Completely to my surprise my wife gave me a Patek Philippe Calatrava on my 60th birthday. It looks very similar to your Jaeger.

Re: Deodorant
I’ve gone back to using The Body Shop men’s deodorant after trying several other brands. I find it does the job noticeably better than the others I tried. I gave up on anti-perspirants several years ago as they irritated my skin. Deodorant stones proved marginally effective for me.

Re: good sipping whiskey?
For some reason I don’t tolerate Scotch whisky very well, be it single malt or blended. I find bourbon a bit too sweet for my liking. On the other hand I find Irish whiskey (especially Black Bush) and Canadian whisky (40 Creek, Wiser’s 18 Year Old Blended, Crown Royal) very much to my taste.

Re: Shaving schedule
Every day is a “must shave” day for me. I’m blonde and have a light ginger-coloured beard so I could skip a day here and there, but I can’t stand the feel of stubble even for a day. Moreover, my morning shower and shave leaves me feeling clean and invigorated, ready to face the day.

Re: Feedback wanted Semogue SOC boar - not badger
Well, I went ahead and bought an ash-handled SOC boar. After all, my other Semogues have been rousing success stories. I must say that the first shave was disappointing, even for a boar brush, in terms of disappearing lather and the like. I sort of expected a long break-in given my experience with ...

Re: Green tea
It should have less caffeine than black tea, which again has less than coffee. A nice sencha tastes best, to me, with a little honey in it. In fact, being of the American persuasion, you might try some iced sweet tea made from green rather than black tea. One day you'll have to seek out some of the...
