I never had a chance to try the old Super Iridiums, but the current Polsilver Iridium is a very fine blade, indeed. Sharp and smooth. The only downside is that there is absolutely a TON of wax/glue on these things. Makes 'em stick to the razor head when you're done and want to bin them. Kind of a p...

I find that there is no substitute for beard hydration....as a dedicated shower shaver if I find myself in front of a sink with razor in hand I am in trouble unless I have spent some time with a hot towel on my face-

My only regret about the Fusion being the current item in my rotation is that
testing it for durability takes forever ... and I look forward to the next combo the Slant 37c with a, , Merker blade.

Personally, I use a variety of soaps and creams yet however many passes I take I do my final touch ups pass
using Olive Oil Soap which leaves my skin softer and more supple than any other concoction I can think of.

I have had my Slant 37C in my rotation since 2002 and I cannot imagine ever removing it. It is only my penchant for variety that allows my other razors to get face time. Frankly, I consider it unlikely that you
will come to regret the purchase. 8)

Re: Cartridge razor

For me, the Gillette Fusion (or whatever sub-model thereof) is the winner in this category. Others find it uncomfortable to use. (I don't know of anybody who finds it ineffective.) The cartridges for it are very expensive, but they also last significantly longer than older models - four or five tim...
