Trust me on this one. Go get The Body Shop shaving cream. It's a perfect middle-of-the-road shaving cream with great skin conditioning properties. Having sensitive skin can mean many different things, but I know that with this cream, you'll at least get a lot of cushion in addition to more moisturi...

Re: Ingrown hair and growing it out
I have rather curly hair (mixed half white/black), and I get horrible ingrown hairs. Switching to a double edge razor and following a lot of the tips on this forum has helped but I'm still not satisfied. I went to the barber for a straight edge cut and same deal. He told me that I should grow my be...

Re: Facial Cleanser....Too Much For My Face?
(And be very careful and specific about what is needed - removing bacteria is just not an attainable or worthwhile goal. ) Before my days of wet shaving and forum searching, I was told that the most common cause of razor bumps and ingrown hairs was bacteria entering the pore and infecting the hair ...

I use Cetaphyl for a face wash - it's light and moisturizes pretty good. That's what I was thinking of trying out. I know it's nice and gentle and isn't heavy on the wallet at all. At this point I can only shave every few days (because of irritation) and I use the Cetaphil moisturizer on my off day...

Facial Cleanser....Too Much For My Face?
I use a Neutrogena Medicated Face Wash in the shower. It's pretty powerful stuff as I can feel a tingle if I leave it on for too long. Could this stuff be robbing me of my skins natural defenses before I scrape my fine piece of metal across it? I started using it in the hopes of reducing the amount ...

Re: To Those That Live In New England
No, Scott, there is no alternative to Colonial Drug. Not in New England...not on the East Coast...probably not this side of St. James's Street. Buzz Dang! Oh well. I'll just have to get used to the wait for internet orders. You are aware, Scott, that Colonial Drug is a real store. It does not have ...

I just found out they opened a new shop at a mall near me. What's the scoop with these guys? Do they sell any branded products other than their own?

Noob Intro and Proraso Encouragement
Greetings gents. Today is my first day on the forum. I'm a 26 year old guy that has suffered from uncomfortable shaving irritation and ingrown hairs since I started shaving regularly when I was 18 (I was a late bloomer.) I've tired every cream, double and triple bladed razor, topical antiseptic, fac...
