Re: Care of Kanayama Strops
Well, I started using this the day after Christmas as Christmas day I did not shave. I didn't even get out of my pajamas the whole day. It was nice to just relax with the family. So far so good. I really can't say much more or that I notice any difference thus far. I'll be interested to see if this ...

Was inspired to use Noxzema this morning and it was very satisfying. It's nice to revisit this every now and then to enjoy and remember.

Re: trumpers rose soap
I had a similar experience with Trumper's Sandalwood shaving soap. The scent did not even resemble what it used to be and the performance was downright dreck - exactly as Gill experienced. No matter how much soap you dug out with your brush the lather just completely dissipated within seconds. And l...

I have to agree with what Murray said, I like these portraits especially yours. And I also agree with the suggestion to keep your hair.
I never got the bug to take pictures but I must admit I do like looking at other people's photographs when they share.

Re: Care of Kanayama Strops
It's worth the effort on the linen. As for the cordovan strop, use it taut, not slack, and with very light strokes. It will not forgive the slightest reversal of direction as you flip the razor at the end of a stroke, so you'll probably end up using it slowly and carefully. I believe the suede stro...

Re: Care of Kanayama Strops
So Santa has delivered and I am anxious for Christmas Day to arrive. Mrs. Claus says I should wait to set an example of proper restraint to the children, ahem. One observation I have is that this does not smell like horse hide like I am used to or even at all. My point of reference is my very first ...

I have to admit, I broke out the Victorian Limes today myself. It's nice how someone's thread can inspire you.

Hi Sam, how would you rate the performance, say against Listerine?
I use Listerine Cool Mint and am pleased with the results but always willing to try something different.

Since I am permanently working from home I am wearing scent again and enjoying it. I rarely wear this gem but every now and then I like to use it. Very classy. I've never smelled it while out in public until yesterday. It was rather a surprise to actually smell it on someone else but it was unmistak...

Re: Worst scent ever
My vote would have to go to Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds. I can smell that a mile away and it literally affects my breathing. Instant headache. Years ago I used to ride the train into the office and at one particular stop there was a woman in her late sixties or early seventies that literally m...
