Sushi and the Mikado

My Japanese neighbor is teaching me how to cook Japanese. My California rolls look like something Cheech and Chong would roll ](*,) But she is proud how well I make rice with a old fan with cranes and cherry blossoms ( 1977 San Francisco date with this redhead) I raced to my apt and donned my old bl...

Re: 4711

4711 was kept in production during WW2 and issued to Unterseeboot crews to counter the stench. I met a U boat veteran many years past. He hesitated to admit his service, 3 generation naval family carried more at 18 (BTDT) than political maturity. He said the combination of B.O. fuel, stale water and ...

I'm back

Hello to everyone! finances, or the grave lack of same kept me offline. In truth, I experienced how people can become invisible and disenfranchised. I am still without a car. However, my brothers both suffer diabetes from obesity and I weigh @ what I did in my 20s. The TeeVee went and I actually rea...

'My' squirrel' showed up this A.M. a bit skittish and wondering where 'our' tree had gone. It took several minutes of quietly sitting buddha like on the grass before he approached. I swear he smell the Alt Innsbruk and was soon siting on my knee eating peanuts again. Meanwhile; a dolphin stayed in t...

I believe current brown bettys are made in Malaysia. You can find lots of lovely vintage ones on EBAY. The maker was SADLER and theh name actually came from the dark orange clay and not the borwn slip most often seen. If you chance on a vintage one conisder testing it for lead. The kits are @ home s...

I was the last coxswain on the last SAR run of the last 36' MLB still in commission. They had a forward crewman cockpit little bigger than a 55 gallon trashcan called 'the glory hole.' It was SOP initiation to take a new crewman so postitioned out over the northwest coast 'bars' and hit big breakers...

The Napolean of Notting Hill by G.K. Chesterton. I've long read Gilbert: He is easilly the most overlooked writer today and incredibly current on so many topics. I just finished rereading my collection of Earnest Shackelton materials. I first read about Endurance while on a southern patrol in those ...

Financial economy was a major reason I returned to double edge blades. The rewards of my frugality? An assembly of products that constitute a significant place on my personal property manifest and 'disposable income.' I don't even calculate cost per shave. It's akin to my rationed Lagavulin whisky a...

There is the option of a custom shirt $ or taking chance with semi custom which is similar to Made to Measure suits. With both you could specify an extra long body and reduced upper sleeve circumferance. Barring that, try tucking your shirt INSIDE your underwear or do a military uniform search for '...

I better not start with my past involvment in Redwood Summer. A more hopefull story is a true anecdote. One of the colleges in England-perhaps BASENOTES knows- had a magnificant chapel.
