I've got some. I haven't tried it yet, but the scent is along the lines of T&H and Taylor Sandalwood (soap).

I don't know if he'd want to be an honorary American or not, but if so, I'd vote for him.

And my vote, aftershavewise, goes to Old Spice. It seems pretty American to me.

It's hard to say, of course, but to me the scratching looks like what a little kid would do, say for instance if they took crayons and wrote on the wall. It's like scribbling and playing around. The damage doesn't look like someone had a rivet in their pants or something sticking out of their pocket...

Wow. Hopefully her injuries aren't too serious - it sounds like it could have been a lot worse.

Let her know we're wishing her our best in her recovery.

The best way to find your favorite is to drink a lot of martinis and explore your way through the diversity available. Sounds like almost as much fun as discovering wetshaving. Thanks everyone for all the hints. I knew I could count on you. I don't recall when the vodka martini became popular but i...

I've been wondering the same thing - how to make a good martini. I got Bombay Sapphire Gin and both Martini & Rossi Sweet and Dry Vermouths. Do those make sense together? Well, the gin and one or the other of the vermouths . . .

Re: What are some must try soaps/creams

All of them. 8) That's what I'd say, except for maybe Burt's Bees Bay Cum, Colgate, Herban Cowboy soaps. L'occitane cream. These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head that are pretty much universally panned. You'll want to eventually try QED soaps, of which, I'd recommend (all of them,...

I chose "Very sensitive skin-- I hate shaving with a M3/Fusion!" although that's not quite right. I don't have particularly sensitive skin, but shaving with cartridge razors mades my face hurt all day. And a very close second would be the price of cartridges. It probably added to my irrita...

I hear you Is the Vulfix Limes like a fresh lime or like lime candy? I'm not the best at picking out scents, but here's my take. The scent is more on the lime end. It's got a lime note that reminds me of QED soap. The scent isn't quite as strong or direct/pointy as the QED, it's muted more like the...

Heee! That's a true shavegeek.

Another suggestion is to buy one that's in good condition from someone here and have them clean it for you - most here are sold in that condition anyway. Then just tell your gf it's new.

Good luck.

Tim, The K-mart near me has Florida Water. Sally Beauty Supply has some kind of bay rum - I forget which. But it's usually slim pickins. Unfortunately we're not in the center of the demographic bullseye. Mike Now that I mention it, the K-mart by me (actually my work) no longer has Florida Water, so...
