Hi Guido, I sent a PM the other day. Also - I was wondering if there was a way to rate these different SS's for their aggressive/gentle tendencies. I know shaving with a razor is a YMMV experience, but has there ever been a discussion on how mild, or aggressive, any of these SS's are? Or a ranking -...

Vulfix 2235 for sale - Reduced

Greetings... Thinning the herd a bit. For consideration: A Vulfix 2235 Brush I like this brush a lot, but I like the Omega I picked up from Giovanni better. Brush has not shed any hairs that I have seen. It has been cleaned using the methods found here on the forum. Asking $55.00 shipped. CONUS and ...

Floris Special #127 - Reduced

To all, Picked up a bottle of Floris Special #127 from esteemed colleague Gareth a while back. Mostly full bottle. Gareth described the scent this way: "The Floris Special 127 is a really nice scent, and quite similar to the No.89. It starts off as a woody, lavender and citrus scent and then dr...

Steve, If it can be controlled through diet and exercise then do that. With all due respect to the medical establishment and the Doctors known to frequent this list: IMHO - getting onto any prescription regimen is a slippery slope. I watched my father go through a really tough time getting his blood...

Re: It's a Boy

My first-born child was born yesterday, guys. I don't have long, just wanted to drop a note. Jacob Timothy. 8 pounds, 9 ounces. 21 1/4 inches long. Healthy. Happy. Tired. I know a couple of you are waiting for me to ship some sales. They're boxed up and will go out tomorrow. Squire, you need to PM ...

I have an idea, why don't you buy a pack of the Platinums and one of say, Super Iridium, then compare them side by side. Not a bad idea. I have some of the Iridiums, and I think I will get some Swedes and try them out. I am still having fun trying my different razors, so I can do a real mix-and-mat...

Gene, Giovanni at www.razorandbrush.com has them as do Paul at Connaught, although I do not have his site. Perhaps Paul will post in. Hi Squire, After I saw the package on one sight I checked and noted Giovanni sells them. At least I guess this is right - this IS the package, right? http://www.post...

Squire, Yes. And I've noticed that many of the members who are high on these yellow pack Russian blades also like Feathers. On the other hand, the chap who sent me these is a Swedes man ( and LBs when he can get them ), and he said that he had irritation issues with them. So, there may be some sort...

Roger, There are several threads and comments about the Omega silvertips. It helps to refine your search by using the "AND" logic operator; for example, Omega AND 6215 will help you find references to the silver-green model. I had one of the 6215 models. It was a nice brush, especially fo...

Hi Muse, and welcome to the forum! I agree with NTS - face prep is VERY important. Some other things that have helped me since re-joining the DE ranks: 1) Shave soap, or cream is better than canned goop. 2) HOT water and a shave brush make NICE lather 3) Slow down - the faster I go the worse it look...

That's the same stuff Gene.Just NOS still hanging around. It's great cream, you might as well get you a couple before they all disappear. The almond is really top notch as is their lime. Almond is hit or miss for me, scent-wise. Lime is OK. How is their Sandalwood? Because I love the AOS Sandalwood (t...

Assuming you mean the lavender cream rather than the soap, I have only used it from a tub. I didn't know about pump bottles, and wonder if they contain thinner cream? As for thick lather, it just requires more cream and less water until either you have the thickness you desire, or your efforts are ...

Anybody here used the soaps from Col Conk?

I was looking through an issue on a men's magazine the other day and found a reference to Col Conk shave soap - raving that their Almond Soap is great.

I did some searching through the archives here, but don't find too many direct references to it.

Anybody have any thoughts onit?

Thanks!

Oh, but smearing almonds, limes, avocados, and coconuts on your face is fine. :P
Hey!

It would be better than giving up "Ape" as your moniker and going by Gilligan.

Right?

Kind of makes you wonder how animals stand to be around each other in the rain, doesn't it? Well, animals must not mind the smell, because I just came home from some errands to find the new brush "mysteriously" on the floor in a completely different room. The cats played it cool, but I'm ...

Good homes to all.

But they did go fast - probably left a little on the table?

I also agree with your point about the censorship technicality, however, that does not bother me as much as the bullying that the group thought brings to bear that has been described here. Sounds too much like High School. Thanks, Zach - I actually had a comment on that, too. High School is right, ...

Wow, this thread generated 3 pages in no time. Really struck a nerve. I have seen some posts here that read like shilling - and the posters had comments posted pretty quick. But - I have read some other posts that didn't seem like shilling that called down the same comments. So - I guess I am glad i...

Here's a little blog on building a Dopp kit from the "Art of Manliness" http://artofmanliness.com/2008/03/18/building-the-perfect-dopp-kit/ I always include a beer bottle opener and wine cork opener. The "all in one" type is the best for saving space in your kit. Regards, Bill D...
