Re: Good lavender scents?

Asked a similar question on another forum, and Saint Charles Shave was suggested. She apparently has two (in both edt and aftershave). One is "regular" and one is Bulgarian. From what I understand the Bulgarian is from the English type lavender.

Re: Floppy Disk Drive

About five or ten years ago I called a repair place about repairing our store computer's 3.5 floppy; he laughed. My best suggestion would be to try to find a source for old computers, cannibalize them for the drives, and hope for the best. Either that or try to find someone who can copy 3.5 floppies...

Re: Vintage C&E Aloe Vera Shaving Cream

John, how "vintage" is this cream? I had never heard of it until you mentioned it in this post. Oldest one I remember, unfortunately just after it went out of production, was the Sweet Almond.

Re: Questions about Taylor's Sandalwood soap

Yes, TOBS sandalwood soap is available in a wooden bowl. Don't know as to the formulation comparisons. Interesting that the lime refill costs one pound more than the sandalwood refill, though. May take an email to TOBS; sales@taylorofoldbondst.co.uk.

Re: Email from D.R. Harris re: new sandalwood soap and cream

Was going to make the comment that getting it from Harris, excluding VAT, would be 17.92 GBP plus shipping, with the view that the pound was down against the dollar right now. But discovered that shipping to the U.S. would be 20 GBP! So I guess buying direct wouldn't be terribly cost effective.

Eau Sauvage EDT vs EDP

Curious if anyone here has experienced both versions of Eau Sauvage and it they could compare the two? Thanks!

Re: Trumpers hard shaving soap- my review

The current formulation used by Trumper's for all of their shaving soaps now uses the same base formula as the Eucris soap. So it's not difficult to tell if you have the current formulation or a previous formulation. If you are not familiar with the Eucris formula, then key word to look out for is ...

Makes me wonder if I should consider renewing my Trumper rose soap puck when I run out.

Re: D.R. Harris, now is the time for a Rose soap!

Trumpers rose soap was one of my all time favorites products. I am also a big fan of the Harris soaps but I never thought they were necessarily better than the trumpers, when the trumpers soaps were good. If Harris were to introduce a rose soap, I would be very interested in it. I'm still holding o...

Re: D.R. Harris, now is the time for a Rose soap!

I remember having emailed D.R. Harris before about a rose soap. Believe I got a very wishy-washy answer - probably like we will consider that in the future. But I keep hoping, too!

TOBS sandalwood soap this morning. Just because it was sitting right there. And it was very nice; better than I remembered.

Very nice of you, Ed. I was pif'ed some 3P (thanks again, Gary) and it is a very good soap. Certainly great for someone who has not used an Italian almond soap to try.

Re: Synergy Shaving Soap from HowToGrowAMustache

It's reminiscent of tobacco. Very pleasant to my nose. Not the same as Straight Razor Designs Opus X, which is straight up pipe tobacco. These are both what I call the good stuff. Gary, have you tried the actual Cavendish soap or just smelled the q-tip? If you tried the actual soap, was it the same...

Re: Where to buy Klar Kabinett?

I think that Barbiere di Figaro either has some or may be able to still source it. Picked that up from another forum. Good luck! And good luck navigating the website in Dutch! I never was able to.

Forgot to add that you had better check shipping costs!

John: I use a crockpot. Last batch was about a pound or so. Keep us posted on your progress!! Regards- Dave Thanks, Dave, but the idea is just now forming. No specific plans yet, but then the more I read about it the more interesting the idea becomes! First would have to get the goulash I am making...

Re: Comparing some good soaps

To you esteemed makers of soap, a couple questions. About how much do you make at a time? A pound or two? And do you use crockpots or pans? You see where this is leading!!! Thanks!!
