Use to happen to me when I was actually constantly swapping back and forth with my setups daily. As I settled into a single regime (after a good 10 years probably, I might add) it's all gone swimmingly well.
ymmv.

A few months ago I grabbed the first Sister Fildema novel by Peter Tremayne -- been devouring them like popcorn since. Similar to Cadfael, with a somewhat repeatable model, but the addition of 7th century Irish politics makes them interesting reads.

Badger: Kent BK8
Boar: Semogue 1305 or 620
While I have a few others, these tend to be my go-to brushes. The 620 replaced my beloved 1305 which had a core knot breakdown and fell apart one day while using it..... took me a couple of years to finally replace it.

I have simply taken the approach that once I have used it up, I don't replace it except for MWF and DR Harris Lavender. I still have 8 or 9 soaps and creams.
And yes, I am back -- ish. Don't anyone fall off their chair reading this.

Re: Astronomy Anyone??
I hear ya Brian, age ain’t kind to our moving parts, is it? I’m looking at options with a very controlled investment total to try and not get carried away. This is one expensive parking. Even more so then my investment over the years in shaving gear - although that may bot be entirely accurate. I ha...

Astronomy Anyone??
I have been a massive fan of the night sky most of my entire life. I recall as a Boy Scout, my leaders taking us to a dark sky location, bringing out a cheap cardboard planisphere and helping us discover the galaxies above us. Two years ago I invested in a decent set of 10X50 binoculars and some obs...

The Greater Journey done -- excellent read and I highly recommend it. McCullough does an incredible job of telling the history of Paris from an American perspective via anecdotes and vignettes that seem to readily pull the narrative together. Just got my daughter's copy of the new Hunger Games prequ...

Montblanc have many strategically located airport terminal locations across the globe. I always make a run into their shop whenever I fly although admittedly I am not doing any of that now or for the foreseeable future.

Finished Dam Busters ...... (the title was too long to type in again, and I am too lazy to copy and paste today). Went to an Alexander McCall Smith - The Good Pilot Peter Woodhouse. A warming story of WWII that I enjoyed immensely to be fair. Then last night I decided I needed me some David McCullou...

Re: My Purchase of the Decade
Every time I have to replenish my MWF. Seriously. I haven't purchased any equipment in 10 years -- although I do need to replace my beloved Semogue 1305 that fell apart a year or so back. The knot just disintegrated over time and fell apart one day while I was prepping it with some MWF. I am down to...

I have plenty of gear - that I have accumulated over the years and have landed pretty much on a single set up which suits me just fine. I'll swap it up very rarely these days ....... ymmv.

Re: What are you reading?
I’ve just begun The Splendid and the Vile , Erik Larson’s account of Churchill and life in London during the Blitz. I’ve enjoyed several of his other books, and this one has been cited as having particular relevance during the age of coronavirus. I am a big fan and just heard the other day about La...

We have a couple of traditional style barbeshops which use straight razors - not Shavettes which I have seen as being more common among the younger run "hipster-type" shops.

Dam Busters - The True Story of the Inventors and Airmen Who Led the Devastating Raid to Smash the German Dams in 1943 by James Holland. I've read a few other records of this amazing story and own the movie which I have watched countless of times. For me, it's one of the more compelling stories of W...

Picked up Shroud for a Nightingale for probably the 7th or 8th time and then when I finished that read The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. The former is a typical Adam Dalgliesh mystery - with the inspector's character continuing the slow peel of the onion (you need to start at the very beginning...

Re: What are you reading?
Finished LOTR last evening. I have been quite sick this past week and had been doing part-duty at work and getting in some reading and resting to get back to the land of the living. It's always a sad day when I finish this series -- not my top book, but one of my top 5 (when you consider all three v...

Re: electric shaver
Haven't used an electric in 30 years. At that time it was a Remington (can't recall the model) and foils kept on splitting open after 3 or 4 months resulting in ripped skin ....... went back to wet shaving and once I found ShaveMyFace.com, I haven't looked back. However, having said this - one of ou...
