To review...there is nothing minimalist about my kit. The two brushes I used in sequence were a Plisson Plexi HMW #20 from c. 1972 to c. 1985 Buzz" Hi Buzz. The first brush was used up until around 2005 I seem to recall. Then the second one replaced that, no? Fitch Quite right, Fitch, my error...

Re: Recommended brush drying time
I should add that I always vigorously shake dry my brush after a thorough rinse. This is one reason I have always stuck with Plisson plexis...the handle shape always gives me a good grip and I have never yet thrown one against the wall or to the floor.

Re: Recommended brush drying time
I used the same Plisson HMW every day for nearly twenty years. No problem. However, I have a well ventilated bathroom.

This is very fine set up you have and I fully understand why you dont need anything else. To review...there is nothing minimalist about my kit. The two brushes I used in sequence were a Plisson Plexi HMW #20 from c. 1972 to c. 1985, after which I purchased the Plisson Plexi HMW #24 that I still use. All along I have been using my old stock of Trumpers Sandalwood, circa 1980 at which time...

Re: Razor monogamy
Since 1973 I have only used the same Merkur travel set rebranded for Hoffritz. It comes in the hammered stainless case with a blue velvet lining. I am considering having the now-brass handle re-chromed, Those who have been around here for a while certainly know the story of my two Plisson HMW plexis...

Re: WTB: Plisson HMW size 14
For two decades I used a #20 Plisson (HMW in plexiglass). I would never use anything smaller and now use a #24. However, the prices of these large brushes take one's breath away.

Re: WTB: Plisson HMW size 14
I've seen a bunch of them recently...they're available new on the Plisson site...and the quality of manufacture has been spotty. Residual glue and the knot, crooked decals, loose screw-on bases. However, Colonial Drug in Newton, Massachusetts had several really nice ones and you should call them; (6...

Re: WTB: Plisson HMW
Be aware that Plisson produced only a limited run of HMW brushes with ivory handles three or five year ago. They cost about eight jillion dollars, new, and the hair wasn't nearly the breathtaking quality of the vintage HMW from the late seventies and early eighties. Too bad about the badger because ...

Actually I said that just to give you plenty of rope. You stated that you couldn't find the data. I found it with the first google search and it was the 2nd item down if I remember correctly. It took all of possibly 30 seconds and virtually no effort. The gun turn in was in '96, the data shows a fe...

Since you're playing nice I'll answer the question. Today I carry 24/7 in one way or another. Maine was a low crime rate state, and still mostly is, but our demographics are changing, and not for the better. What keeps our crime low is the number of people who do have firearms at home and on their ...

Re: Getting Milk
One could ask: How many citizens of all countries choose to take advantage of their vested legal rights, or not, according to their individual circumstances? Answer: As they so desire. Example: I have a right to own, use, and carry a shaving brush, and I do that whenever I wish. Lord knows I could ...

Re: New handguns
This is a common thought, but it's not accurate. There are way, way more gun enthusiasts than folks realize in America - in every state in the union - and the truth as I see it is there are far more times firearms have been used to save the life of a loved one than there are times of senseless gun ...

Re: L'Occitane Plisson has been out of stock not discontinue
The Plisson factory has been offering an ivory- and an ebony-handled version for 30-something U.S. dollars. I believe it's a molded rather than turned handle, but they look decent, certainly nicer than the L'Occitane wood version. The knots are the same, however. Worth a look-see: http://blaireauxp...

Re: Brushes and Lather Quality
Naturally, it depends. Mostly it depends upon what you mean by better lather . Every shaver has his own ideal lather. some of us like it dryer some of us wetter. Some of us want it thicker, some of us want it thinner. Some of us want to apply an inch thick abundance and some of us want to apply a th...

Here you go, Batman, http://blaireauxplisson.com/en/plexi-cristal/306-plexi-cristal.html#/size-20_large_size. Re: An Unusual Plisson
A size 16 EW is currently visiting and I can't wait to try it. It's gorgeous, and by far the largest brush I've ever held. An 18 must require two hands. :D Best of luck with your HMW. I use a #24 HMW and my son has a #20 HMW...we like big brushes. One certainly does not need brushes this big, but t...
