Frankly, I use most scents in the aftershave strength. I find that most aftershaves from Trumper's, Penhaligons, TOBS, etc., are fine in that strength. In fact, I think the only cologne strength fragrances I still use are Trumper's Ajaccio Violets, Taylor's no.74 Victorian Limes, and Caswell-Massey'...

Actually, like some of the others, I use a small snifter when I really want to fully enjoy a scotch. I also add a little water to bring out the aromas.

I have an Omega synthetic brush. While it's nice for travel, it is not the equal of a badger brush, or even a boar brush. Still, it's serviceable. Of course, the synthetics aren't doing much good for the natural world, either, so weigh that in when making your decision.

I, too, have a Raleigh, although mine is only about 45 years old. It's a lovely bike. My other bike is a Schwinn World Voyageur, but it's only 35 years old. I, too, have been thinking about getting a modern bicycle, so I'll be interested in watching this thread develop.
