Re: Taylor Coconut Shaving Cream - new product

Arrived yesterday from Paul at Connaught Shaving. I'm getting ready to put it to use this morning, and will come back and post about it later on today. Being a TOBS cream, there's not going to be any mystery about the performance of the cream. The fragrance is what it's all about. To my nose, Taylo...

Re: Paterno book at the flea market today

"The Joe Paterno Legacy" written in 1997, fifteen years ago, this was a glowing and true portrayal of his life at Penn State, up to that point in time. He should have retired at that time and turned the reigns over to someone else. Instead, because of pride and power, I suppose, he refuse...

Roger Smith wrote:I like the look of the Futur, but I hear it's very mild razor, even on the highest setting.

I thinks it's safe to say that the Futur is more aggressive than the Progress.

The Vision was more aggressive than the Futur.

I use my Futur on 5, with Feathers, and am never lax at any time of my shave.

Re: NYC, 8-28 to 9-3. stubhub tickets

Thinking of seeing the NY Giants - NEw England Patriots preseason game on 8-29. Last preseason game for both, so Manning and Brady should play into the 3rd quarter. See some tickets on stubhub and other sites for $22 to $40. Electronic delivery, print them out yourself? Never done that for a sporti...

Haven't tried the green, but the red was a huge let down, IMO. Not to sidetrack the thread too much, but any specific reasons why? I tried the red and enjoyed it myself. Is the Red still around? People were hyping it all over this board years ago (like they held stock in it) and I wasn't a fan. It ...

Re: Is this shampoo okay?

I know I'm about 2 years too late in asking this question, but I shampoo my brushes every month and to a Em's vinegar clean every three months. I use Vet's Best Natural Formula Hypo-Allergenic Shampoo. In your opinion, is this a good shampoo to use? A given shampoo may be ammonia based, which does ...

alcx to me that makes no sense at all. The shaves improve when the shaver learns how to use the tool. I'm in a zone with work where I need the 15 minutes spent shaving to read documents and as such flip back to the electric razor. Philips works best for me. There also are times when I can't risk cu...

Great mix of technology and niche marketing. The balance could be anywhere from 5 to 95 percent towards marketing.

I use a few of the products; I don't think I'm better than others because I do, there is no self-righteous or groovy feeling about beating "others" when I do.

Re: What happened to Tryphon, and Barbiera Italiana?

I know that the Barbieria Italiana webshop is closed, but it doesn't give any specifics on the website. Will they come back, if so the when, was business taken over by someone else, ... Would be interested to hear about it, and also if there is another place to buy Tryphon products. Thank you! The ...

I don't think you can deem yourself a geek.

The name has to come from bullies and it's never meant as a compliment or something you can feel proud of.

Re: first time feather

Feathers cause me to respect the blade and let it do the work, and not to try anything dumb or aggressive.

There is nothing like them.

But I still take a break from them for a week or so.

1.75 to 2.5 depending on blade, usually around 2. +1 2 with a Feather provides a comfortable close shave which I could see myself being content forever with. However, I tend to be reckless and demanding like to get in there sometimes and 3 provides that satisfaction with more risk. ----------------...

The selection for automatics in the $500 range may be a bit limited, you might want to take a look at either Tissot or Hamilton. I have had an automatic Tissot that I bought at Birks back home in Canada about 10 years ago and has served me quite well but it was close to $700cdn at the time. My Hami...
