Keep the quantity of gear constant.

I don't think you intended to vow a life of beardedness after your current batch of goods was gone. So, by using, giving away or selling something you have, you wouldn't be buying "more", but merely replacing something you already had, but disposed of.

I'm playing No.3 degrees of scenteration

I've heard that DC 1913 smells like C&S #88 which is supposed to smell like Floris #89.

EDIT: D&C to DC (it is late)

I ordered a sample of the cologne. To me it smells like "The Third Man" with rose instead of lavender.

Does this sound accurate to anyone with a more educated nose than mine?

Is the other note of 3me different as well?

I've got some. I have no idea what oak moss smells like. To me this smells very clean. Like fresh laundry but maybe slightly vegital (like wintermelon). I don't think it lasts too long, but it could just be that the smell is so bland (not necessarily in a bad way) that I forget about it. I wish it h...

I'm pretty sure the perfumed court has MdM. I bought a K10 sample from them and saved myself a bit o' money (unless my sample smelled atypically of bicycle tire and baby powder). I'm not pimping for TPC. There may be other places that sell samples too. They charge $5 or 6 shipping too, so your $3 -6...

I'm sorry to hear that the TP blades were that bad. Several months ago I bought injector blades (in a similar white plastic injector) from Rite-Aid or Longs, and the blades were all crap. Wouldn't cut. I took a look and the edges were visibly flattened. Too bad I've spent so much on soaps, creams, a...

I have an E3 Fatboy, but the rod that holds the silo assembly won't come out. I tried freezing it, heating it, soaking it, pulling (gently) on the top, and tapping (less gently) with a chopstick on the screw-end of the center rod. Still it won't go any further than before. I've tried it with the adj...

The neck of my 1947 SS has a small tapered ridge before the concave neck that SS usually have.

I didn't realize how filthy my quasi-daily razor was until I took this picture -ugh.

The thing is that essential oils are often hard on the skin and many natural perfume ingredients (well civet anyway) require a fair amount of cruelty to animals. A pure synthetic may be both healthier and more socially responsible.

Apparently Mountain Dew sold poorly in England, and was quickly discontinued, because the yellow dye worked all the way through the digestive tract.

I just got my sample pack. I am amazed, considering I only requested it on Saturday and they shipped it from England. I'd thought that copping to SMF membership would drop me to the back of the pile until things slowed down, but maybe they figured I'm the type of guy who buys way too much shave stuff.

I think this chrome one is tempting. The metal prongs should fit whatever you like, but the metal may scrape the wood or plastic of a brush. I saw a similar double-decker one on ebay under "stamp caddy" or "stamp rack" http://www.amazon.com/Revolving-caster-spring-8-stamp-capacit...

NB is in Hayes Valley, not the Castro. I think Shaveblog says Castro, and maybe the store was down there at some point, but NB is currently a few blocks west of city hall. Right around the corner from Blue Bottle Coffee, if you're specialty shopping that day. And yes SF is really dirty. There are a ...

An inauspicious beginning

My first post is a suggestion. In truth +1ing this suggestion is the main reason I joined. I'm not sure how intensive a query it is to check for posts less than 24 hours old, but it is likely less intensive to run a query for threads that have been updated in the past 24 hours. As a frequent lurker ...
