Doleeco,

Be careful with that black tip, it is not made of metal and may not stand up to the boiling very well. I soaked mine in OxiClean and very hot water and it came out like new.

Nice finds and a good deal. I have been really digging my black '77 SS lately.

I chose 4 for my answer. I really haven't used my Fatboy enough to know what the bet setting is for me, but I know that it was not near the very high or low numbers.

Mmm...I've got Eucris on right now. I am too boycotting at the moment, but that won't stop me from using what I have on hand. Turns out I'm not as wimpy as Gordon, but I'm also not as strong as Michael and Pat. I suppose either way I am not in very bad company.

For current Gillette DE blades, I have only used the 'Swedes". They are very good blades. I have also used Gillette Platinum Plus blades from the '80s and the two Platinum Plus blades that came with my '77 SS. Both of those are better than the 'Swedes'; a bit less harsh and they seem to last a ...

Jeez Murray, I thought I was methodical. I enjoy grinding my own coffee and using a French press purely for the ritual involved. It's why I enjoy more involved endeavors; your case is of an advanced sort that is beyond my limited knowledge. Perhaps Gordon can help . I clean my razors after a bl...

I don't know why I hadn't thought of this before. Has anyone tried soaking dirty razors in laundry or (machine) dishwashing detergent (without chlorine)? Paul, I once had thought of using laundry detergent, but I decided to try OxiClean that day on an injector and haven't used anything else since t...

I believe that the "I got my Feather Artist Club from Sam" are up in arms over this grievous and obvious jab at their establishment.

David, Bill and nts are quite right. You will not be able to change your genetics. As a biologist, I know this to be true. As for a razor, a Progress seems to be in order. I haven't actually used any Merkur razors (don't tell Oscar), but I expect that to change after the new year. I hear it is a goo...

I buy about 2 cans of Tang a year and always have a jar of Ovaltine.

Mark nice connection, but I think "A Christmas Story" has the best Ovaltine reference.

Steve, I had a similar experience with the Nancy Boy shampoo. My first purchase was last December. I reordered in September, and cracked into the bottles in October. I will never by a different shampoo. My next order will include the laundry soap to try and a reorder of the shave cream. -- Jeremy

I have a '77 SS that seems to be my best shaver. I acquired a NOS razor as it is my birth year. It came in a plastic bubble on cardboard, no plastic case. It rattles and is made of thinner metal than my early razors. Paired with NOS Gillette blades I get a superb shave. I wonder what the next best b...

Like Danny I've had mine for almost a year. Don't worry too much. Soon you'll have more soaps and creams; enough to last a long time. I have yet to finish one product that I purchased since joining here.

By the way,

Welcome aboard.

Sacrilege, Wilkinsons may be cheaper but IMHO are not better than Gillette Platinum. Cheers anyway John I agree, especially since those are the German made Wilks. The English made NOS Wilks are on par with Gillette Platinum, but since they are no longer made I try not to get too attached. -- Jeremy
