Dave,

Keep it.

Or, clean it and offer it. I know a few members here use one, and they are decent enough as a travel razor.

What shape is it in?

At-ease Marine! Left to my own devices in a similar situation (not likely - still married to the girl of my dreams), I would plan on being shaved and ready about 1 hour before I was due anywhere. Keep a steady hand - don't gash yourself. And one last thing - start slow with your fair lass. She is NO...

Dave, No expert either, but FWIW: I bought a gold razor, that looks a lot like yours. One difference though - just above the TTO handle - yours seems smooth, and mine has a small ribbed pattern on it. Also - I have a '55 red tip, and my handle is ribbed all the way up, while your black tip seems jus...

Gordon,

Could you post the link to that NA web site?

I Googled (funny how THAT word slipped into the lexicon, isn't it?) and found some web sites, but don't know for sure which one you mean.

Thanks

My recent experiences with him in the last 2 weeks have been great. He was traveling, but he and I spoke on the 10th, and my order came right away. The brush I bought was not what I expected, and he helped right away. Can't wait to see the new one. I also bought a few blades, and there were several ...

That's what I would have said - if I was better at this scent thing!

Tim, I have used the AOS, the T&H, and the Tryphon sandalwoods. I love the performance of them all, but I must say - I really like the scent of the AOS best. I am not an olfactory specialist like some of these folks, so I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly what makes it so good, to me, but there y...

OK, Stopped at a Walgreen's on the way home and bought one bar of the lavender and one of the Oatmeal and Almond. Gonna try them both this weekend. Now - as a total soap noob I have to ask - what is a tallow-based soap, and what is good about that? What is milling in soap and why is triple milled a ...

I think genetics plays an important part in overall oral health. My teeth are not good - I have a mouth full of fillings, and several crowns. Like some of you I couldn't see the dentist without his greeting me with a needle in one hand and the drill in another. After I got on a strict regimen of twi...

Call me crazy, call me old, but I don't worry about bbs any more. I used to - and it drove me nuts getting all those little spots that I thought were scruffy, but really weren't. I'd spend so much time running my hand against and across the grain on my face, I wore down my fingerprints (well, not r...

And I'm with Squire: the very high-end of blades is Feather, which go for $.45 apiece. The no-name blades at my local CVS go for $.57 apiece. Online purchasing of a known quantity is the way to go. Regards, Yes, but the blades from Walmart are in at about $.16 apiece. I have a pack - they do a fair...

Al, I travel quite a bit, and these are ALL good suggestions. I typically carry my bags on, so maintaining control of the razor itself is not an issue for me. Blades - now that's a different story. I usually mail one to myself or make other arrangements. I bought a cheap travel soap holder and put m...

Interesting.

Better results were predicted with dish washing soap than the borax.

I don't know if or how alcohol would affect the hairs, so I'd just wash it well with soap and water. Greg, At a minimum - yes, and thanks. I read where a solution of Borax and water would help. Hoping somebody else has some other ideas, too. Also - as I just won some Tech's and other stuff in silve...

Cleaning a used brush?

Greetings, Well, right or wrong - picked this up on the 'bay over the weekend. Many of you folks all rave about Vulfix brushes, and this was much less than a new one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=230268403068 Now - I was hoping for a sticky on c...

My advise is the opposite of petr's. Rinse off all lather and soak your face with cold water. Then dry thoroughly and dry shave. Feel your way around and just keep buffing the stubble against the grain. If I use lather my beard just lays down as the razor passes, but dry it sticks its neck out and ...
