I used the cross process (E6>C41) for this eerie colour, handheld by firelight: http://www.shavemyface.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10019/E6-C41_Cross_Process.jpg For a different way (entirely!) of approaching B&W conversion, you might try looking at Light Zone . It really is different and you mi...

But then there was the electrical system in my Triumph TR3A. Maybe things weren't always better in days gone by. On a serious note, can anyone provide the date when the old Tailor's ceased to be and the new formulation came to pass? There's a reason why Lucas Electrics were known as the Prince of D...

Check the blade is straight and firmly clasped by the razor head - older injectors will sometimes work loose. You do know to use it with the face of the top plate flat against your skin, don't you? Then drop the handle just enough that it cuts hair. I don't see how one can go wrong with an injector ...

Yeah, I'm not going to walk up to random Iraqi citizens and ask about wet shaving, I prefer to actually come home alive. :D If you need wet shaving supplies, go to www.classicchaving.com Shipping is very good, well priced and they have everything you need. Thats who I went through. Good luck. I was...

Controlling the bloom, and its inverse, density, was the motivation behind the VLB. Talking of which, I should have some good news to post later this week.

I've spent the last 20+ years as a cop in a large city/urban environment, with a large chunk of it investigating sexual assaults & homicides. I've seen my share of gun violence, as well as knife violence, bottle violence, box cutter violence, 7-iron violence, baseball bat violence, etc. I'm not...

You could whittle down a cork from a bottle of wine. Of course, you'd have to drink the wine to stop it from spoiling.

Faisal, I'm just 'Chris' when I'm here. The differences are readily apparent: http://www.shavemyface.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10019/L1000481.JPG These are both Simpson bests, but the Duke is what I'd term a 'brown' whereas the Chubby is less desirable kind of 'white'. The Duke is the same as most...

I used the Lemon & Lime today and found it less satisfactory in shave quality than the Avocado (well, at least that part hasn't changed; the Avocado was always reckoned as something special). The lather was thin, even though I took care to shake out my brush and added very little water as I mixe...

I've had Simpson bests that are so stiff that I cannot use them (CH3), stiff but came around after persisting with them (CH2) and sheer delight right away (D3). There is a huge variation in hair quality between the best of one model and that of another. Now I think about it, 1 in 3 is a better outco...

Does the Colgate foam come in Violet, Coconut, Sandalwood or Rose? That would be a factor to me. The most important part of getting a close and comfortable shave is in the preparation of the beard, and once the beard has been softened it is certainly possible to shave well with Edge gel. I'd miss th...

I used the new style Avocado cream this morning, along with a small scuttle, my Sabini finest and Big Daddy. The cream is less dense than most pots of the old style cream, and it takes a good deal less water before it becomes runny. This will necessitate adjusting your lathering practices a little i...
