Thanks.
If I'm using a mild razor I must have a super sharp blade or it won't work for me. I also like Med Preps or Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellows with it. Those are my go to blades for all my DE razors anyway, all vintage Gillettes BTW.

Re: A modern SE razor?
Is anyone still making SE razors? If not, should I start? :D As previously stated, there are so many in the pipeline there's no shortage of them. They are great shavers and as Sharpspine mentioned that blades work great even if there isn't a lot of types. I'd definitely get a SE. Some good starter ...

My Slim set on 9 with either a Med Prep or Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow is my top pick for DE razor. I use others just for variety (I get bored easy), but the Slim is #1 DE for sure. When I found the Slim I stopped looking for other DE razors. OK I lied, I had to get another Slim 'cause they aren't mak...

I love the Autostrops, great medium aggressive razors. The slide in blade holders look scary, but it's no big deal. They slide in easily. I like to put a drop of mineral oil where the blade is inserted, but I don't know that it actually does anything. Just start it straight and push in from the side...

Put hot water in the sink. As it's filling I decide on and get out my gear. Summer, Load the brush with whatever, face lather, that takes 3-4 minutes and it's my prep. In the winter I have a kettle of boiling water to add to the sink, and I put a steaming hot towel (from the sink) on my slightly soa...

New to the forum, not new to real shaving. First post. I never fly, so that isn't an issue. I travel by car for a few days at most and while I could take a lot I just take my Travel Tech kit, and either a soap stick and a small brush in an Rx bottle or a brushless cream. A 2oz bottle of AS completes...
