Re: What bath soap are you using right now?

My wife just set a box with a bar of Yardley's Oatmeal and Almond on the counter. We get them at the Dollar Tree store for a dollar each.

Re: Finding Things to Talk About

Brian, are you saying that it is better to use dropbox for sending pictures to the forum? I am not up on technical stuff and will need to try one but I am not sure what you mean by long term. I just want to send photos that I have transferred from my camera to Picassa to my posts in these forums.

Re: And here we are ---

My wife of 15 years did not like my chin when I shaved my beard off because I had it when we first met. I keep a short cover on my chin now.

Finding Things to Talk About

As I have posted a while ago, we seem to be settled into our routines and equipment. That leads to decreased posting at the forums. I was thinking of an experiment. If members would post pictures of the lineup of equipment and products in their cabinet we could compare notes. What about trying some ...

Re: What bath soap are you using right now?

Right now I am having a skin problem because I must sit most of the time, so the nurse suggested a milder soap. She suggested Cetaphil liquid as one of the mildest that she knew. I use that on affected areas. Seems to be very mild.

Re: Posting Has Slowed Down Lately

I miss the friendly banter that only comes when members are interested in what others have to say and to answer them. I really don't need more shaving products, but when I am out of something I know i'll get the information I need here.

Gunny, I used Clubman reserve for a bathroom deodorizer myself. Never liked Clubman either. I do use Clubman Vanilla, and their Bay Rum though.

Re: As seen on TV

Our local newspaper reports the monthly state inspections of local restaurants. The state gives red and blue flags to those that have problems. One of the most common is lack of proper hand washing facilities to be used by staff. The next most is for employees untrained in food handling sanitation r...

Re: As seen on TV

I watch them on PBS and one chef (Simply Ming) dips the handle side of his spoon into whatever he wants to taste. Just once, and he uses the business end to stir the food.

Re: Personna Super Stainless Steel "For Hospital Use" blades

Gary also shared a few of those great blades with me. They were wonderful. Of course, I used them up so yesterday I reverted to one of the 100 plain blue box Personna blades I purchased quite a while ago. To my surprise, I got a very decent shave from it.

Re: Fast Shaves With Brushless Cream and a Disposable

Thanks Tucker. I think I still have some Bic Sensitives. I like them a lot but I haven't tried them for this yet. I have only tried a couple of brushless creams. I think the other was Kiss My Face but I really don't recall. I was posting about it at the time.

Re: Fast Shaves With Brushless Cream and a Disposable

A couple I tried the same trick with a Gillette Fusion. It pulled and stumbled all the way. I think the brushless had too little water to activate the lubricating strip. Or, I just didn't mix enough water with the brushless.

Re: Fast Shaves With Brushless Cream and a Disposable

Maybe it's my lathering technique. I fill the basin with hot water and soak my brush while I dip a washcloth in and wet my face; then comb my hair. I shake out the excess water and rub the cake for 10-15 seconds; build lather on my face; sit the brush beside the basin and grab a razor; shave one pas...

Fast Shaves With Brushless Cream and a Disposable

Gary's thread (Against The Grain) inspired me to try a new fast way to shave. I used a brushless cream (no time spent building lather) and a Gillette Guard (fast shaves in any direction with no nicks or scrapes). I wet my face, smeared on a one inch length of Alba Botanicals brushless, and I shaved ...

Re: My take on European beers

I live in Washington State. Imagine my surprise when a job took me to Montana where beers are divided into those served in taverns and those you could buy in a grocery store. When co-workers took me to a bar I tasted real beer for the first time. Schlitz was a wonder then; not the factory product it...

Re: My take on European beers

The PBS show, Cooks Illustrated, had a taste test of Mexican Lagers recently. They were based on their usual nerdy approach. They found out that all 4 lagers they tested were made by large multinational corporations and contained corn which is used to sweeten the product and save money. All true Ger...
