Just like the Merkur blades, I SO wanted to love the Feather blade. Nope. IP blades, Derby blades, even Wal Mart Personna blades provide me with a better shave. Feathers, to me, are harsh and draw blood.

My roommate in college always used...onion dip. Let me add two things to that statement. First, he was always sober. And...it wasn't bad!

I have no issues with someone liking someone I don't like. I don't like mayo. A favorite condiment for most. But there is an underlying issue here I want to bring to the surface. It all goes back to the first post of this thread: I just this morning used a Gillette 7 O'Clock blade (in a Rocket razor...

Nice re-bristling though.

That was short buildings. Yes, short buildings!

I soak my brush in a cup of hot water while I prep my face. It just speeds up the process for me. I find the brush works as well if just loaded with water or soaked in the cup.

Randy, if you got the blade a year ago, I believe that it must have been a 7AM, not a 7 O'Clock. Michael, You may be correct, and I apologize for any confusion. I searched through the "razor" drawer to see if I still had any of the blades, and I have tossed them all. However, the 7 O'Cloc...

Over a year ago I was in a "blade trial" that included a number of various forgettable blades, and the 7 O'Clock was one of the blades. I used a number of them from different packages and overall found them to be decent, but no better. During that time I learned to no longer judge any shav...

Erik, my real breakfast usually is one egg, slice of 7 grain toast (or whatever the grain count is) and one cup of Cheerios with 1% milk. My mid-morning snack is generally a small banana or "apple cookies" as my kids called it, which is an apple that is cored and cut into rounds. Once a mo...

Being from Texas, I understand what a healthy breakfast consists of. Three eggs, over easy or sunny side up. Biscuits with sausage gravy. And thick sausage patties (not links!). 3 slices of bacon. Hash browns covered in gravy. Grits. White bread toast with real butter. Beverage of your choice. And t...

Welcome to SMF. We joke around a lot about how dangerous using a DE can be, but it really is common sense. You've started, and that's great. But I would suggest using two with the grain passes and one across the grain pass until you learn the proper blade angle. And what is that? It really depends o...

I may be the odd one out here but I rest my ring finger on the tang and my pinkie underneath. Just feels comfortable and gives me the sense of more control (don't know if it actually does though). I think that is the key! Do what feels comfortable. You know, the old saying, "if it feels good, ...

Tim, maybe if you live in an extremely warm and dry climate. But a dense know is prone to stay wet for some time.

Letting a brush dry completely should reduce the chance of any mold buildup.

I have no favorites (I'm a Cowboys fan) but I do have mixed emotions. I would love to see Eli match up to Peyton. But I would also love to see the Pats get the perfect season. Regardless, I'll enjoy the game, and I do think that it will be a close game! So for now...Go Tom Petty! http://blog.mlive.c...
