Go to page 6 of this PDF company newsletter and look at the picture at the top of the page: http://www.soapworksltd.co.uk/sites/default/files/soapworks_may_newsletter_single_pages_lo-res.pdf Yep, this company produces Penhaligon's soaps as well. I missed a few other names on the company's Our Clien...

John, Sorry but it sounds like you gotten the crappy new formulation GFT soaps...They are terrible at lathering...I was extremely saddened when i found this out...i had been using GFT Violet for 10 years in one form or another and got my auto-shipment last year and the soap was worthless...I've gon...

Gordon, The persistent rumor I read on shave forums is that Harris continues to make their own soaps at a facility they own in one of the London boroughs. Who knows if its true. A poster at B&B claimed to have talked to someone from Harris within the past year and claims the Harris people said t...

Funny you should ask John:churchilllafemme wrote:Can any of the almond or sandalwood cream be bought anywhere now? I certainly would be interested in purchasing some.

Any chance that you might ever stock the Atkinson's bath soaps from Il Coloniali? The soaps are top notch and I'd prefer to buy them from you Phil.

Craig, I see. Well, that's just jolly...sigh. That Standard Soap Co. used to make the old T&H soaps which,as you know, were quite good. Still, surely Trumper et al. have other options in Britain, Bronnley for example? They MUST know by now that these soaps are unuseable...how long do they think...

Red Lion Foods? color me particularly non-encouraged by this news. I'd bet dollars to donuts that *if* the brand returns, it will consist of rebranded brushes & razors made by another company (ie Vulfix, Muhle), shave soaps manufactured by the likes of Soapworks (the producers of the loathsome s...

Re: Vintage Coates Almond Shave Cream
Thanks for clarifying the cap issue Andy, we do not want to see wild internet rumors get loose on a great stash of shave cream. Definitely. I didn't mean to imply anything about the creams that Andy is so generously offering. I was just going my past experience with the caps on Coates tunes,...

I just ordered a stash of Coates as well. I can't wait to revisit this old favorite. Just remember: be careful with those caps Gents, they break easily.

Gordon, This one firm is singlehadedly nearly ruining the British shave soap industry. I'm not kidding about that. It's posted in more detail on the 2nd page of this thread: http://forum.shavemyface.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=52294&start=20 This firm, Soapworks, purchased the business of the fi...

Teiste, I'm glad you enjoy it! Squire, I gave Lavender another try with a different technique and brush and I am now seeing how awesome the Lavender really is. Really smooth shave! ockhams's razor, very interesting read, I had no idea about the Time's piece either. And that one member saying that $...

Re: Need avice on lathering Trumpers soap.
As Gary wrote, the Trumper soaps being made today are awfulm they are being made by a firm in Glasgow called Soapworks, who also make equally awful soaps for Penhaligon's, Truefitt and Crabtree. They are as bad as anything that's on the market, simply unlatherable. The scents are wonderful, you migh...

Wendell, I missed the Dexter cameo, where was it? The fact that he had a cameo, to me, is as good as him endorsing the series.

One last note. I found this article yesterday. It turns out that Broad Oak Toiletries, the firm that produces shave soaps for Floris, is actually the "sister company" of Floris: http://www.packagingnews.co.uk/equipment/adelphi-filling-kit-solves-a-very-sticky-issue-project-profile/?goback=...

Gary,
Mike's is the best artisan shave soap that I've tried. YMMV and all.
