Re: Amazing Arko!
An Arko stick is what I use to test an unknown blade with. There is no better for the money, IMO. I just cut a spiral around the paper with successive use and leave it open in the bathroom as an air freshener. Two birds with one stone.

Re: New Whipped Dog Synthetic
As for me, it would be preaching to the choir regarding the newest generation of synthetic brushes. They are simply stellar.
Nice review.

Re: Reading up on Synthetics
I have had a Mühle Black Fibre synthetic since last Fall and to be frank it's all I use now. It does EVERYTHING well, soaps & creams. No need to pre-soak and it's dry in 10 mins. or so. I am sold 100%. I paid around $40 for it. Simply wonderful.

Re: Muhle Blades
Does it say Personna on them somewhere? If so, I bet they are rebranded Israeli Red ones. Great blade if true, but not at inflated Mühle prices.

Re: Gillette Stainless
This particular blade is probably THE sharpest modern Gillette DE blade made in Russia. Extremely so, IMO. I have approx. 45 or so of them left that I bought from Israel. Is it worth it to pay extra as compared to say Silver Blue or other fine Gillette blades? Probably not. But, at one time I enjoye...

Re: Polsilver Super Iridium
Squire, have you tried the Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus and the Gillette Nacet Stainless? I mean the current ones made in Russia and not the older ones made in other countries. IMO, these two are Gillette's best DE blades. So sharp & buttery smooth. Many are getting 7 & 8 shaves on them. :wi...

Re: Polsilver Super Iridium
Hahahaha!! On another forum a Gillette employee dropped some fascinating hints & info regarding this. Unfortunately, many did not like what he said. Personally, I like some of the old blades as well, with the Schick Plus Patinum & Super Chromium being superb. However, sputtering, coatings &a...

Re: Polsilver Super Iridium
... QUESTION : Anybody out there tried the Gillette Silver Blues against either the Polsilver Super Iridium or the Hospital Use? I'm reading lots of great stuff about the Silver Blue's, and I'm wondering how they stack up against other top DE blades on the market today . . . Yes, I have. The best D...

Re: What type of Krona did I buy...?
They are not uncommon. It's a Schick Krona after Eversharp bought them. The metal TTO knob ones were made first & in later years the plastic TTO knob ones. Best daily razor made IMO.
