Re: Palmolive shaving soap & cream has been discontinued.
John, the subject of the sticks wasn't addressed. I suppose it's out of production too. I didn't ask about the sticks, to be honest until I tried some Arko the other week, I have only used creams. But going off the tone of the email reply, I reckon the whole lot is finished. Went to my local Morris...

Re: Amazing Arko!
I'd been looking online at it, and also popped into a "proper" barber shop in Southport to see if they sold it. They did and I had a quick sniff, liked it, but they were asking around a fiver for one stick so I declined. Guess it must have struck a cord with the missus as she got me two st...

Amazing Arko!
Hi guys, Well it was my birthday the other week, and a surprise gift was two sticks of Arko. Never tried it before, only ever used Bluebeard cream which is nice but pricey, and Palmolive which is very nice and cheap. But I tried the Arko, and holy cow! That stuff is amazing ! Just a couple of rubs w...

My mrs has an alum deodorant as she's allergic to the chemicals in most others. She just wets it, and applies it. Each one last about two years!!!!!

What is a "WTG shave"?
So you're basically saying these shavettes aren't up to much?

Hi guys,
I took advantage of an offer with my blade supplier last week, bought 100 Gilette 7O'clock blades and got a free "RAPTOR" shavette. Only tried it the once, scary stuff. Finding it difficult to use in the mirror.
Any suggestions fellas?
John.

Dad's old razor?
Hi guys, Many years ago, before I learned to shave properly  I sadly threw out my dad's old DE razor, something that I deeply regret now. I know this is not much to go on, but I am wondering if anyone recognises its make from this description. It was a butterfly DE, the head was chrome, the ma...

Re: Alum Blocks?
John, I don't know. But they're cheap so I suggest getting another AND an alum bloc. If the new pencil gives a repeat performance try the Alum bloc and let us know how it works out. Chris I've already got an Alum block, which does not always stop the bleeding, hence this thread of course. Will have...

Re: Alum Blocks?
Hi guys, been a while.... My styptic pencil thingy kinda went all mushy and dropped in bits a while ago, not got round to getting another as I don't cut myself that often anymore [-o< , but should it have done that. I used to leave it un-capped until it dried but it still turned mushy. Any ideas ? H...

Hmm, that's very interesting.
I'd never thought of that, I just chuck them in the waste bin. Now wondering if maybe that they could be a hazard to others seeing as the rubbish will probably end up in a landfill site.
What do others reckon?
John.

Re: an orgy of questions
I am personally curious about the shaving habits of SMF members so I am tossing out a number of random questions off the top of my head. This is not a survey for anyone but I thought some of us might be interested in how SMF members answer them ... if members do respond. So, answer any of them you ...
