I just live with it, I'm grateful just to get hold of decent blades and if its a competition between glue and a cartridge its a no-brainer.

Gary, I'm a big Aristocrat fan and actually don't use any other razor anymore because none that I've tried (there's been plenty) shave me anywhere near as close. I have a 30's model and a 40's model. Both are American gold types that look exactly the same and shave the same. I prefer closed comb (as...

I'l have to be the lone dissenting voice then  . Now I like some of the scents of the Arko creams and find them useable at best but the shave stick sucked all the moisture out of my body, so much so, that it left me feeling like the Sahara desert, during the summer in the middle of a heatwave....

He is probably best known for Kung Fu over here, which was shown on prime time on saturdays in the 70's. I loved the show and it always reminds me of my childhood days. Sad that someone of his age should go like that but maybe better than dementia or worse I guess.

I'm not a big fan. I can get a decent shave, but that's about it...the original (all white) I thought was great, but the orange ones just don't do it for me... That said, I think the point of the orange ones might be a one-pass, with-the-grain shave. My problems come when I try to go ATG. I think I...

I tried a disposable Bic sensitive......

and my beard destroyed it. At least thats the impression I got. I didn't get a very close shave but it didn't irritate like a cartridge. I'm sure I could almost hear the blade disintegrating as I dragged it around. I know some people find these alright but I wasn't particularly impressed myself.

I've only really ever had one problem with the fat, it makes all my other soaps and creams pretty redundant. Its a real struggle to justify using anything else. I also think thats its the only soap/cream that I would consider moisturising, with the exception of Nancy Boy, which I can't get hold of a...

Re: I still really like the Feathers!

I have a large assortment of various blades. Some are highly reviewed, some are not. I really get a good shave from 99%. I think the trick is really the preparation of the beard. Squire's reviews are very helpful to everyone and pretty darn accurate. I find that Feathers just flat out give me a gre...

StGeorge, I actually thought in mid stream you might be talking about Boars. Small to medium is my preference when we're talking badgers. Medium to large when we talk boars. More than happy to reload and paint on for multiple passes. Andy Andy, I use a Simpsons eagle 2 which is not floppy like the ...

I got fed up with all sorts of crud on my computer and having to rebuild all the time but the solution is quite simple - switch to a mac. No spyware, no virus no nothing. Its another ymmv thing. Bristle type is more important for me as I prefer a brush that is stiffer. I don't like big brushes as flinging lather all over the place doesn't appeal to me and I'm quite happy to reload if I have to. Its all a matter of personal preference. I'm sure you'll get a view from ...

Phil, rather than fiddling with the registry I would go for a clean format and reinstall of your operating system if you want to eliminate that part of the equation. If cost is an issue I would recommend trying DE razors and blades as they will be far cheaper in the long run and will probably be even better. If you are happy to stay with catridges you will have to shop around. Ebay can be cheap but you have to be careful of fake blades. I'm sure Ren or one of th...
