I don't know much about the higher end creams, I've started DEing on a budget. Don't forget to try a few soaps if you haven't already. I like Col Conk and HoneyBee Spa. Great bang for the buck. http://search.stores.ebay.com/Honeybee-Spa-Soaps__Shaving-Soaps_W0QQfcdZ2QQfclZ3QQfromZR10QQfrppZ30QQfsooZ...

Only place I can remember seeing it offhand. Available soon. 2nd from the bottom @ $12. I've read a few good things about the Mentolo too.

Dumb obvious question but do you not like the Proraso menthol and eucalyptus cooling effect?

Congrats Rob and welcome to the forum. Glad your first one was nick free, mine certainly wasn't. I've been DE shaving a few weeks and still find myself mumbling "light pressure" and "watch the blade angle" to myself. The real fun begins when with sampler pack arrives. Don't be to...

I've always built my own around an AMD cpu. Best bang for the buck imo. I have owned a Dell in my time, but I have also heard that the quality and support isn't what it used to be. You mentioned you rebuilt computers in the past, I'd go that route here too. http://www.pricewatch.com/ http://computer...

Hi and welcome to the forum. My priority in an A/S (balm) is how well it protects and soothes my skin. I tend to have dry skin and aloe, moisturizers, etc are what I look for. Scent is a distance 2nd on my list of A/S priorities, that is what my cologne is for. As I'm new to this too, so I won't rec...

You never said which OS you are using. If you don't have a firewall, I'd suggest getting one. Even the ZoneAlarm free is better then nothing. You can always try the search function for a filename (or part of filename) and see if it downloaded. Never hurts to enter safe mode when scanning either. The...

I started with an inexpensive boar brush ($10 boar from Old Dominion Soap Co) and recently picked up an Omega Syntex (thanks Adam) and find that I like Syntex a bit more. I can whip up a nice lather just fine with a soap or cream. I have no experience with the higher end badger brushes and probably ...

I prefer something smaller and more traditional in shape. As for using it as a spatula, I prefer a flexible cutting board.

There are other variations of it but 5-7-5 is considered the standard for most people.

Hi Adam, welcome to SMF. Two things you might already have but didn't mention : a styptic pencil or alum block to help with cuts/nicks and an aftershave to help with the irritation. I prefer an AS balm that has some moisturizers in it since I have dry skin (Nivea's extra soothing).

I'm considering a move similar to this (albeit for a small condo) and am looking forward to the responses.
