Re: What bath soap are you using right now?

Not a soap, but a body wash: Jack Black All Wash. It's less drying than some of the other brands of gel or gel-like body wash. Haven't had an issues with it and I like the scent.

Re: New Mattress Suggestions?

I own a Sleep Number but it's not a particularly high end model. I'd have to look up to see what it is... probably a queen p6. I looked through my e-mails and noticed that the delivery was an issue.... drove me nuts. Around the time I purchased my bed I exchanged messages with a buddy of mine and ap...

Re: Memories of barbershops when growing up.

I'm in my mid-40's and remember a barbershop at a little strip mall near my childhood neighborhood. The owner's name was Ray... I googled around a bit and he still seems to own the shop. I remember going there in the mid-to-late 1970s. I don't remember too many details though. I do remember the str...

Re: Worst scent ever

I don't care for the Master Colognes....

I tried Master Topaz... no wonder it's $36.00 a gallon.

Draggon Noir #14 as well.

I'm surprised criminals don't use this stuff to mask odors odors when necessary.

Speaking of eggs I was just watching a YouTube video of Jacques Pepin preparing a traditional French omelette.

I’ll give it a go again.... maybe several knowing my luck.

Oribe Products

I think most of their products are aimed at women. However, they have some of the best pomade, wax, fiber & grooming cream that I have ever tried. They're extremlely expensive for hair stying products but these are not cherry, cola or vanilla scented rockabilly pomade gels. A little goes a long ...

Re: Really, really good Cornbread

Peter Reinhart's Bacon Cornbread is pretty amazing. However, it is probably the least healthy cornbread next to "crackling cornbread". I don't feel comfortable posting the recipe here but you can find it at Leite's Culinaria website or in Reinhart's book - The Bread Baker's Apprentice or o...

Re: Bed linen sprays

Sam,

I use Caldrea's "Pear Blossom Agave."

It's strong and can be diluted even though I don't think they intend that. I have the laundry detergent as well and I use that for linens but I need to run an extra rinse or dilute it as well.

They're about $10 for 16oz, I think.

Prospectors "Gold Rush" Pomade

I'm always on the lookout for different brands of water-type pomade. I've tried a number of brands and I'd say that many are quite similar in both texture and hold. I find the typical varieties of scent to be vanilla and/or coconut. Others are straight-up citrus or other fruit based (cherry, etc.). ...

Re: What led you to this?

I used creams and soaps from time to time but never a DE and only a cartridge razor. I probably reverted back to canned goo from time to time as well.

In all honesty a "certain person" appeared on TV back in 2004 or 2005 and he renewed my interest in quality products.

Re: Opinions on small SUV's?

I'm happy with my Forester. I haven't had any major issues aside from the AC compressor dying early on. The guy at the dealer said it was uncommon but with so many parts on a modern car there can be duds from time to time. The car will hold its value... I think I have about 55k miles and I don't pla...

Re: What's for supper?

I'll have some black eyed peas cooked with chopped onion, a small amount of ham broth and possibly some celery. I'll also have 1/2 acorn squash and maybe some fish.

I'll have time to figure out the next few dinners as I'll most likely be snowed in until late Sunday or Monday sometime.

I'm thinking about pizza baked on the "Baking Steel."

I'll use Whole Foods dough this time. Does anyone have a favorite pizza dough recipe?

I use a clairsonic with anti-oil soap or a charcoal type cleansing gel. It has made a huge difference for me. I follow up with post shave healer and an anti-oil "matte" lotion.

Squire, That works and is many times faster than bringing out the machine for small jobs. The Assistent is continuous discharge, not fill the bowl and dump. There are some jobs that I use it for where the continuous operation is a huge plus. The Assistent is expensive but if it'll be used, and you ...

I heard back from a friend of mine who is an excellent cook. I'm going to get the Cuisinart 14cup. IT's $200 less than those other two.
