FS Merkur HD Slant-bar DE Razor - SOLD

This razor is in excellent condition, having seen very, very little use; I just can't get the hang of it. It's the polished-chrome version. Price: US$35 including postage. I take PayPal.

To bring you current, I'm halfway through my chemo with no significant side affects so far other than loosing the hair on my head AND, best of all, my beard has nearly stopped growing. In consequence, I only have to pass the razor lightly over my face once a week and I get true BBS! I haven't been t...

But you shouldn't wear a Dinner Jacket before 6.00 pm; see Dr Moss' rule #6 above.

When you are on warfarin/coumadin, your blood still clots but take 2-3 times longer to do so (if you are on the right dose). Consequently, it is perfectly OK to partake in all normal activities, but simply be aware that you must press on a cut a little longer to allow it to clot and cease bleeding....

Ren, I might have guessed that if any store in the GTA would sell garters it would be Stollerys; must give them a try next time I'm near Yonge and Bloor. Thanks for the offer vis a vis Nick's, I've sent a PM.

Chris, the dreaded "B" word. Even if I could grow a decent one I wouldn't; I don't know how anyone can stand a beard. Also, when I see a man with a beard I figure he's trying to hide something, but then I'm prejudiced. The lesser evil is to use the electric, but come to think of it, as I'm...

Ren, thanks for the Simcan link. I've been looking at these socks in the HBC, but I've only seen them in all cotton. I can't stand cotton socks, as after awhile I feel as though I'm standing in a swamp. Because of this I wear only wool socks and I see Simcan makes a merino wool blend with a bit of c...

Help, I'm in shock, I have to use...an electric razor

The subject line says it all  . I've just started a medical treatment regime, which will last approximately five months. If that's not enough, the specialist has advised me to shave with an electric razor whilst under treatment to avoid cutting and knicking my face. Well, I've purchased ... an...

We're on our second Kenmore Elite (SS tub, etc.) in seven years and about six months ago the second one began to malfunction. I'm going to run it for as long as possible and will likely replace it with a Bosch or Miele.

Sue, I don't know if you drink beer but if you do, try and find an English ale from a brewery called Charles Wells, they brew a beer called Banana Bread Beer and believe me it tastes like the real thing. Will accompany that banana bread pudding a treat. Enjoy. I hope you weren't hurt in the little ...

I think it's Giovanni Abrate of Tryphon Enterprises. He's also into fountain pens.

Yes, that's fairly common. A razor prefers to have something to get hold of, and an extra day's growth will do it. Now why that should be is beyond me. Sadly, I am not prepared to miss a day's shave in order to study this. Chris So many straights, so little time. I'm with the good Doctor on this on...

I agree with Squire and Tim. It is best not to wonder how the top of the line brushes perform. You can spend a lot of money on brushes and most of them aren't going to lather any better than your current brush. Clint Agree in general, but after experiencing the Rooney Finest and the Kent B&B 20...

Super Iridium blades

I'd be much obliged if some one could direct me to an online vendor of Super Iridium DE blades. I've looked high and low, but can't find one. I've been using Derbys for a year and it's time for a change; Squire's review of the Super Iridiums convinced me to give them a try since Feathers give me a s...

I still use a Mach3 when I travel, but in no way does it give as satisfying a shave as a DE. In fact I find the first pass with the Mach3 to be rather uncomfortable as it noticably pulls at my whiskers, and I don't have a heavy beard at all. Also, I find that my beard grows back more quickly when I'...

PG, aka Teabag, I've been using a badger shaving brush in one form or another for the last 35 years. It was only two years ago, however, that I encountered the brush to end all brushes: a Rooney Style 2 Size 1 in Finest. There is something indescribable about the Finest badger; it's soft, but with a...
