I shaved with a Schick twin sensitive disposable for a few years. There are a very economical shaver which provide decent results. I think the secret lies in that lube strip, which provides a very smooth shave with almost any crap foam/gel from a can.

If you are in the Southern Ontario area there is a great microbrewry that is really close to my home. They are in Nobleton and are called King Brewery. They only brew two beers (so far) King Pilsner and King Dark. The pilsner is truly excellent and is a proper pilsner, just like the original Pils Ur...

Biotherme Aftershave

I just thought I would share that I have had great success with Biotherme Active Shave Repair aftershave. I have tried many and after using this stuff for 6 months it is fantastic. It is a cream that is very light, soothing, moisturizes well, and is mostly unscented (there is a very very light fragr...

I find that any face cream with SPF feels too heavy and bothers the heck out of my skin.

The body shop shave cream is nice and it comes in tub form and a tube, it also has a nice earthy smell. In the same line is the Face Protector cream which is quite nice. I find the Aftershave gel is useless though.

I had an aquaintance who claimed that storing blades in the freezer somehow made the blades more durable by altering their molecular structure. He was generally an odd fellow, so I never put any stock in what he said, but I can't help but wonder. I think that comes from the idea of dipping the blad...

Sorry guys, I didn't shave with the Williams today. I had a brand new tub of Taylor Avocado come in the mail on Friday, and I didn't get to use it until today because I was travelling (in which case I used a tube of DR Harris Arlington -- very nice). I couldn't bring myself to ignore the Taylors for...

Re: Proraso in Coquitlam, BC

Today I spotted half a dozen Proraso shave cream in the green tube in the Giancarlo deli on Austin Ave in Coquitlam BC. I bought one, and said to the woman at the counter "This stuff is hard to find, I'm glad you have it." She replied "Really? It's very popular." They had only t...

Right. So with the new retro double-edge razor they would also need to invent a new double-edge blade made of some futuristic material that they can sell at $4.99 each...  Maynard The cartridge generation (myself included) isn't ready for a mass produced DE. I'm a recent DE convert, a...

I'd be happy if they just made better blades for DEs. Gillette, are you listening? "The worst a man can get" isn't much of an ad campaign. Might want to work on that image. -Gerald Gillette has made its fortune convincing guys that more blades are better and can't turn back on that now. G...

After I whip up the lather in my bowl, I place it in the sink which is full of hot water. I then place my brush in the bowl and it keeps everything nice and warm for my later passes.
Wouldn't the bowl just float and then tip over with the weight of the brush?

Help

I'm new to this premium shaving thing, my first DE arrived a month ago and now I find myself buying more and more stuff. At first the excuse to my wife was "DE blades are cheaper!, I going to save money in the long run!" Then I purchased a fine brush and matching (expensive) stand for my M...

I have a maximum threshold of 2 (maybe 3) passes on my neck and then all hell breaks loose (redness, burns, bumps). No matter what I do there is always visible stubble in those pits on your neck (the places beside your apple). My neck whiskers generally grow from my adams apple to my ears, but there...

I wonder if those plug in mug warmers you use at the office to keep your coffee warm would be any good? Maybe if you turn it on before your shower and it would be good and warm by the time you shave.

Shipping kind of kills (or at least cools it down) the deal for us Americans unless we place a large order. $7.95CAD plus $1.95CAD for each item. Two tubs and two tubes came to around $70CAD, or $59.50USD. Still not a bad deal, though. Thats funny in a way. Being in Canada, nearly everything intere...

Florena is great if you don't have a brush handy (i.e, when traveling). I find you just need to apply it once and just keep adding water to your face and it just keeps lubricating.
