Just my personal opinion here. Creams seemed to be easier to work with for me until I got my shaving "ritual" down. They seem to be more forgiving when working up a lather. Your milage may vary though. Hope this helps.

danny, you don't know how right you are. Sorry, but this is a bit of a rant. I hear co-workers talk about investing in the "markets", but when I engage them they barely know how anything works after the part where they sign their name on the bottom of the check and hand it to their financi...

Just out of curiosity, what is the general price range for a 195?

Seems like a nice razor to add to ones collection...not at that price though.

That's an awesome razor. I have a Chatsworth with the small round stand in the Mach III head. Since I've switched to DE I've been thinking about getting a DE from them.

I'm going to have to give another vote to the AOS creme. I love the scent so much it's become my favorite. I use the cream, the aftershave, and the cologne.

Be warned about the aftershave, it's a balm so it's a bit thick and very little is needed.

Hope this helps.

I am a huge fan or Proraso. I use the green tube, the preshave creme and the aftershave. All three leave my face nice and tingly. This is especially nice on hot sticky days. I had a tube of the red, but didn't like the consistancy. It seemed a little runny to me, so I gave it to my brother to use. :...

I currently use DE razors because the cartridge razors are junk. The Mach 3 cartridges are expensive and tear at my face. I get better, irritation free shaves from my DE.

A preshave oil may clog your pores and make matters worse. My only suggestion would be to use a mild astringent. Try some Thayers Witch Hazel. They make some with Aloe to help soothe skin.

Well here's my two cents worth. Every guy that I know that is married, including my brother, spends his time living in the basement. All the guys I know have finished basements, huge plasma tvs, bars, bathrooms and other amenities. My brother has even been known to sleep in the basement and go to wo...

Deputy welcome to the wonderful world of wet shaving. I too have dark, thick, coarse hair on my face. I have tried everything to get a nice close shave, but no matter what I do I can still see shadows on certain parts of my face, most notebly near the back of my jaw near my ears. While wet shaving w...

Just to follow up. I did soak a couple of razors in a mixture of water and Barbicide as the directions on the bottle said. My mix was a bit stronger than their recomendations, but I did follow the time instructions. I then took an old tooth brush and rinsed it completely under hot water. I have to s...

Oops, thanks george. That would explain why my search came up thin. I kind of thought that was odd. I figured I couldn't be the only one to have just stumbled onto this product.

John, thanks for the reply. I got a small bottle for free from a friend, so I'll give it a whirl.

Barbcide

I'm not sure that this goes here, but I figured I'd post this question here first.

Has anyone used Barbcide to clean their razors? I did a search on Barbcide, but didnt' turn up much. I was wondering if anyone used it to clean their razors and if it has a detrimental affect on the razor or blade.

Scotts I agree. I read that article and it seemed to lean on using the Shell brand gas in your car because of that additives. Personally, I get my gas from Sunoco or Sheetz. My company gives gas cards for Sheetz away as sales contest prizes so I've been using those. If left to my own devices I'll us...

Hey Steve, just thought I would add my two cents in. I too have extremely sensitive skin. I try and shave everyday, but my work isn't too strict on facial hair so I can get away with skipping a day or two. My advice is to start out only shaving with the grain. I find that this give me a decent shave...
