Re: General by Colonial - one year already and not looking b
Thanks. Good information. I'm in a groove with my razor(s), but now I will have to try the Kai blades (but the double-edge).

Re: Tulip etc
I think even an inexpensive but decent quality brush can last decades. I know my dad used the same drugstore boar brush all along. My memory--I can still picture it in my mind--is that it was an Ever Ready. I would bet when he bought it he paid around $2 or $3 for it.

Re: General by Colonial - one year already and not looking b
I had to search. Interesting. I wasn't familiar with that razor. I'm curious if you have used only the Feather blade with it, or other blades as well? (I've used one package of Feather double-edge blades from a sample pack I purchased. They were the best blades in my experience, cutting whiskers wit...

Re: For Marmite lovers only
Noted, Use Sparingly! I won't buy the Big Squeeze container first time out. But I do like trying new foods at least once. This has been in the back of my mind for years. Thanks to this forum and this thread for bringing the memory forward. I remembered how I learned about it. First was hearing these...

Re: For Marmite lovers only
Years ago when I heard or learned about Marmite I looked for it locally (here in Florida, USA) and couldn't find it. I had since forgotten about it until seeing this thread. But now, in the Internet age, I just checked and found it can be ordered on Amazon. Hmmmmm. I will have to give it a try next ...

Re: Introduction
Hah hah. I don't know nowadays, is there a shaving soap that inspires more passion among fans and detractors with no one in the middle?fallingwickets wrote:I'm sure your introduction is going to drag fellow MWF'ers out of the woodwork to ruminate about its fine qualities

Re: Introduction
Thanks again for the welcomes. An afterthought about Dominica: If and when it does become available again, it could be different. Not a different recipe, but just different in the way Grand Bay seems a little different from Dominica now. Of course by then we will be just happy to have it, and probab...

Re: Introduction
I don't think I can really describe the difference between Dominica and Grand Bay. The difference is really which has the more appealing fragrance to me, and there really isn't a big difference there. When I first used Grand Bay after finishing a bottle of Dominica the morning before, I thought the ...

Re: Introduction
Thanks for the welcome. I don't know that I have a lot to contribute. I'm not much into the gear and stuff. I know what I like, and I also know that YMMV applies to nothing else like it does to shaving. I'll be watching new threads (and keeping an eye out for info or news on Dominica).

Introduction
Hello forum. New member but not new to wet shaving. Actually, I began using an old three piece my dad had back in the early 70's when I was still a youngster and then lost my way, using mostly Gillette cartridge razors for decades and going back and forth between canned foam and soap and brush. I st...
