Re: Unusual Opal Brush
Neat looking brush! Thanks for posting a picture of it. I wonder if the handle wasn't supposed to hold a shaving soap stick in it. I imagine something is also missing from the whole set up, a tube that the whole brush fits in for travel, perhaps? I am thinking of something like the Simpson's shavin...

I raised a similar thread on this matter “Is SMF Losing Its Vigour?” on 12 Nov. 2015. I still check in nearly every day, but I haven’t started any new threads recently because there is little new happening in my life; however, I’ll contribute to existing threads when I have something to say.

Re: What bath soap are you using right now?
@brothers. I still shower every day unless there are unusual circumstances, eg winter camping in the wilderness, canoe tripping in the early spring or late autumn, illness. It’s a habit I haven’t tried to break. However, when I was a lad at boarding school we had to shower twice a day: a cold shower...

Re: What bath soap are you using right now?
As report earlier, after close to a lifetime of using Cussons Imperial Leather, we have abandoned it due to a reformulation, which has resulted in an inferior product. We are now on a quest to find a replacement. Currently, we’re using the Costco Kirkland bath soap, which is quite acceptable, if not...

I am ambivalent about watching the Olympics because of the host government. I have absolutely no interest in either of the other two.

Re: Trumper Curzon Street Virtual Tour
In a recent Agatha Christie Poirot mystery aired on PBS, the opening scene was of Poirot exiting the Trumper Curzon St shop. Made me “homesick” for London and my favourite shaving shops there; it’s been 3 long years away.

Re: Noxzema - it's been too long, my friend
Dumb question. I once read that if you used the NoxzemavSkin cream you should wash your face with hot water and soap dry it off and apply the Noxzema is that the way you all use it or do you leave your face wet and rub some of the cream on I leave my face wet and apply the cream. I use just enough ...

Clive, I just watched a session of Cook’s Country in which they recommended baking salmon “low and slow”. I’ve downloaded the recipe and will give it a try.fallingwickets wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 8:29 am thanks for the reply. i always make a mess of it when i try, but will give your 'specs' a whirl

Re: trumpers rose soap
I tried their Rose soap not long ago; it was absolute rubbish. Their cream seems to be fine, however. But another retrogressive move is that they seem to be getting out of the business of aftershave splashes.

Re: What bath soap are you using right now?
We’re using up the last of our cache of Cussons Imperial Leather bath soap; just one more bar to go. We bought this soap three years ago and since then we have learnt that it has been re-formulated and the results are less than favourable based on the many reviews we’ve read. We’ve used this soap fo...

We won’t be going anywhere any time soon. We haven’t visited the family in the UK for two years, but that’s fine with us since there’ll be plenty of time later to travel where we want. Patience is a virtue.

Re: Moisturizers for shaved heads
Chris, thanks for the detailed explanation. Ever since I started #2 buzz cutting my hair at the beginning of COVID-19 , my head has stopped itching. I didn’t quite know why, but your dissertation has enlightened me; I’ll continue with the buzz cut.
